First post for this format!
There's lots of players now compared to last format! Maybe because the Spellbook-Dragons domination is over. This could also be the reason why Konami sanctioned our annual Open Championships that concluded yesterday. They allowed tcg cards to be used but they made the format to be a singleton/highlander with the exemption of OOPArts/HC/Gimmick Puppet! This will be the first time a highlander tournament is held and lots of players joined to try to win with their decks.
Heard weeks before the tournament that Dragon decks were the best pick but was skeptical since you can only run 1 of each Dragon Ruler. My mind was completely shut-off from that idea. I admit I was kind of narrow minded with that so I originally planned to make a Chaos metabeat deck but was unhappy with playtest as a Storm or Dark Hole easily resets all my efforts. Tried Heroics to abuse Extra Sword but fails against staple traps. So i opted to use the Chaos deck instead though i'm not confident about it. Before the tournament started, I got to talk to my Jap friend Yuki and he asked me whether I would use Mermails. I asked him why would he assume that i'll use Mermails and he explained to me why. He convinced me to it so I quickly made a Mermail deck with his coaching. Thanks Coach!
Philippine Open Championships 2013
OCG/TCG allowed.
Except Forbidden cards, all cards are LIMITED. This does not apply to Chronomaly/H.C./Gimmick Puppet cards.
6-round Swiss with Top 8 cut
Deck Used: Mermails
Round1: vs. William "Wslasher" Sy (Six Samurai) 0-x-0
Game1: He opened with RoTA + Ascetism + Kizan. Wtf? Isn't this a singleton tourney? Luckily his backrow wasn't as godly as I was able to bluff his Shien to not negate my Abyssphere and made Trishula with it and Diva.
Game2: RoTA + Dojo + Kizan. Wtf? Same as last game but he had Dimensional Fissure now and 2 backrows being protected by Shien. I drew Fiendish Chain, MST, and Royal Decree and set all three. His turn he attacked and I misplayed here when I activated MST to target DFissure. Shien negates it and I activated Fiendish Chain but he chains with Book of Moon to protect Shien. I should've activated Fiendish Chain first so that his Shien is forced to negate it instead of my MST and Booking Shien would have been no help there.
Game3; Can't remember much except he had Vanity's Emptiness and I was able to get red of it.
Standing: 1-0
Thoughts: Seriously regretted about forgetting to main Gozen Match considering I had it sided.
Round2: vs. Merix Bartolo (Dragon Ruler) x-0-0
Game1: Drew 4 traps with Solemn but no monsters. I set all and ended. He set a monster and I assumed it was a Ryko so I used Dark Hole on it on my turn but it was a Dandylion. I ended then he summoned LaDD and I was forced to use Judgment. He summoned Debris and made Black Rose that wiped my field and lost from there.
Game2: Rushed him while he still had no grave thanks to my Transmigration Prophecy.
Game3: Tried to rush him again but he had Gorz. His Lyla took out a bluff instead of Breakthough Skill so I had an answer to his summon. Topdecked Duality got me Dark Hole that wiped all monsters except my Zenmaines which took his remaining 1500 LP.
Standing: 2-0
Thoughts: We realized Merix misplayed in Game 1 when he summoned LaDD then after it he summoned Debris Dragon. lol. Nevertheless, my initial mindset of Dragons not good in highlander is now changed.
Round3: vs. Benn Alcantara (Dragon Ruler) 0-0-
Game1: I think I really misplayed on this one + I took too much time to decide. I had Dragoon, Abyssteus, Foolish Burial, Salvage, and a Marksman in grave. The field I was able to develop was just a measly Dragossack + Armor Kappa to deal with his REDMD, Starform, Tidal, etc.
Lost next turn as I had nothing to stop his summons.
Game2: Time was called and I wasn't able to kill all his LP as needed.
Standing: 2-1
Thoughts: Bought food and water after this game. Stressed a lot as I was a noob to spend so much time thinking then only making a poor play.
Round4: vs. (Chaos Dragons) 0-0-
Game1: He started first with Maiden + Chalice to summon BEWD then Azure Eyes Silver Dragon. Opened with mediocre stuff so I just summoned Trooper to mill out stuff. I was confident I would be able to block BEWD since I have a Tragoedia. His turn he used Mind Control at my Trooper (wtf) and Monster Reborn on his Maiden (wtfx2!) All my opponents are so lucky wtf. Was able to save part of my LP at least and went on a grindfest from there as he summoned Felgrand Xyz with Stardust and the free BEWD. End story was, he had a monster, 4600 LP, while my last card was Avarice with no stuff useful on my graveyard. Returned Infantry, and Diva back to the deck and miraculously I drew both of them! Luck sided on me this time as I was able to kill him at that point.
Game2: Rushed him as he looked like he drew bad.
Standing: 3-1
Thoughts: Really thought I would lose the 1st game as he drew all his best cards like Reborn, Mind Control, BLS, Maiden, Ravine, etc. Late game he didn't have enough stuff to finish me off.
Round5: vs. Gerald Hui (Dark World) 0-0-
Game1: I summon Trooper, set BTH, ended. He summoned Snow, I use BTH, we laugh for a while, and he uses Book to save Snow. Turns out he had Foolish Burial that's why he summoned Snow. lol. He went downhill from there.
Game2: He set 2 and a monster. I bet it was Morphing Jar. I drew Gorz and other stuff I can't summon so I just set a trap f/d His turn he set a third trap and flipped his monster which was really a Morphing Jar. He summons Sillva and Reborns my Gorz and attacks, only to face my Mirror Force! He tries to activate EEV to offer my Gorz but I said he cant since he just set that card so he uses Book on Morphing Jar instead (why not on Gorz?). My turn I picked off his traps 1 by 1, leaving the dead EEV and won.
Standing: 4-1
Thoughts: By this time, the top tables were all Dragon Rulers except for 1 Fire Fist deck which was undefeated. Inevitably, my next opponent would be a Dragon Ruler too.
Round6: vs. Junjun Agoto (Dragon Ruler) 0-0-
Game1: Overwhelmed and I lost.
Game2: He was able to set up Jewel Stardust and Vanity's Emptiness on his 1st turn. I was able to mill a Breathrough Skill so was just hoping to draw MST or Storm or Dust or Undine or Dark Hole or Vortex or any other stuff I sided in so I could start playing again. But no, they didn't come.
Standing: 4-2
Thoughts: Only two persons with 2 losses would get in the top 8. I had good tiebreaks (those who defeated me are all 5-1) so I'm hoping to get in and I did.
The Top 8 players/decks for this highlander tournament are
1: Joriel - Fire Fist 6-0
2: Chester Sombillo - Dragon Ruler 5-1
3: Junjun Agoto - Dragon Ruler 5-1
4: Benn Alcantara - Dragon Ruler 5-1
5: Yuki Karikomi - Dragon Ruler 5-1
6: Merix Bartolo - Dragon Ruler 5-1
7: Edsel Gozon - Mermail 4-2
8: Zaccheus Liwanag - Dragon Ruler 4-2
So officially, I was wrong to think Dragon Ruler wouldn't do well in singleton. lol. On the contrary, most ppl were thinking that Mermails was the inferior deck in highlander.
Top8: vs. Chester Sombillo (Dragon Rulers) 0-0-
Game1: He went first, did plant stuffs and finished with Jewel Stardust, a few tokens, a set card, but no Dragon in sight. Did usual Mermail stunts and won.
Game2: Had Gozen Match early and was able make Bahamut Shark to beat him to death. Special mention is the Vortex against his Gorz.
Semis: vs. Junjun Agoto (Dragon Ruler) x-x-
Game1: I Duality to get Reborn. He Duality to get Maxx C. Took too much time again to think of the best move against his Maxx C. In the end I let him get a +1 off his Maxx C to get rid of his Scrap Dragon. I weighed that it was the best move since I can't let Scrap stay at the field as it will kill me off. However, he pulled Kinka-Byo from Maxx C and took away my Foolish Burial from hand and the Armor Kappa I was relying on with his Trishula.
Game2: 2 mins left until time is called. So I was forced to rush in order to get me a chance to deplete his LP hoping he drew bad. He opened very well though so again I lost to him.
Final Standing: 3rd-4th. Got 8 SHSP booster packs and a regular game mat as a prize. Pulled 2 crap SRs. Why no Mikazuchi nor Duplicity? :(( Bad luck streak. lol I got a freaking Noriko from my CPZ1 entrance pack also. -_-
The finals was Dragons vs. Dragons and ultimately, Junjun Agoto won the championships. Congrats to our 2013 WCQ rep for winning the 1st PH Highlander tournament!

PH WCQ Results
A big congrats to our back-to-back WCQ Champion Irwin Arogo! The Top 8 cut was full of big names in Philippine Yugioh after a grueling 7-round swiss of 102 players. Final results are as follows:
1st: Irwin Arogo (Dragons) 6-1 swiss
2nd: Junjun Agoto (Prophecy) 6-1 swiss
3rd: Armyn Villanueva (Dragons) 7-0 swiss
4th: Chito Racimo (Prophecy) 6-1 swiss
5th-8th:
Edsel Gozon (Prophecy) 6-1 swiss
Alvin Lim (Mermail) 6-1 swiss
Roy Gonzales (Dragons) 6-1 swiss
William Sy (Bujin) 5-2 swiss
Special congrats to Irwin's team Asiong for getting half of the top 8 placings.
The top cut was very tight as getting X-2 generally means you wont make it to top 8. Lots of ppl disagreed as everyone expected a Top 16 cut but maybe it would have been for the better so only the best scorers gets the chance for the championship. Less non meta decks to top too.
Well, here's my matchups for the event.
Round1: vs Dragons 0-x-0
g1 = Went first and proceeded to complete the Jowgen Kycoo puzzle. He used Heavy Storm and Book of Moon for my Jowgen when I chained Lance to Storm. He summon Tidal from a baby then forget he cannot attack with it and got nothing else to do.
g2 = Took a 1st turn EEV. I chained Judgment and dropped Batel but he got Veiler too. I was left with Soul Drain so I was still ok but he got MST after a lil' while.
g3 = Puzzle complete.
Round2: vs Machina Gadget 0-x-0
g1 = He got no backrow while I didnt have Spellbooks that can combo so I just made a Blader to kill his Gadget and stop his Fortress with BTH to stop any Xyz that would try to take down Blader.
g2 = He had Droll to stop me after I added Sefer with Batel and didn't have any other good spellbooks left. Took Storm and lost to too much advantage. He spams King Feral Imp and Giganto each turn lol.
g3 = Puzzle complete.
Round3: vs. 4-axis Fire Fist 0-0-
g1 = He tried sharking me (long story) but in the end... puzzle complete.
g2 = Lots of passing around (drew Fate+Fate+Sefer again) and setting monsters. By the time he set a 2nd monster I realize the 1st one could be Morphing Jar #2 so I also set my bad-drawn Jowgen. His turn he flipped and indeed it was Jar. So my Jowgen went back to the deck and was replaced by a Batel. After a while he was down by a lot of resources while I had lots.
Round4: vs. Prophecy 0-0-
g1 = Both our Batels got Veiler'd. But I have Kycoo early and he didn't have something to go against it.
g2 = Droll'd him. I had 2 Judgments drawn so I used 1 and a Secrets then he uses Droll too. I just set the other Judgment with Book of Moon to use in his turn. He wasn't able to come as I showed me he drew 2 Crescents in his first 6 cards. That's why I prioritize to side this card out when I side in non-Spellbook cards. Less consistency but less card conflicts.
Round5: vs. 3-axis Fire Fist 0-x-0
g1 = Puzzle complete.
g2 = He spammed a lot in his turn while I had no Maxx C or Veiler so he got an overwhelming advantage against my mediocre draw.
g3 = Puzzle complete.
Round6: vs. Dragons 0-x-x
g1 = Puzzle complete.
g2 = Puzzle complete but he toppled it using Heavy Storm, Dark Hole, and Blaster. Sad. But I thought it couldnt be possible that would happen again.
g3 = Drew Fate+Fate+Wisdom+MST. No monsters but I got Soul Drain and Solemn Judgment. I set both traps. His turn he set 2 cards also. My turn I drew Judgment Day. His turn he uses Star Sword, I chain Drain, he chain his set MST, I chain Solemn. After he drew he uses the other set MST to destroy Drain. He made Big Eye and set EEV. I drew Jowgen and he uses EEV. I summon Kycoo from deck and summoned Jowgen from hand. His turn he passed. My turn I drew Soul Drain. I felt I won already but his turn he used Dark Hole and proceeded to kill me using the baby dragons. Felt so sad about my luck compared to his.
Round7: vs. Mermail 0-0-
g1 = Puzzle complete.
g2 = He made Gaios and Kappa but I had Dark Hole then locked him out.
Top8: vs. Chito (Prophecy) x-0-x
g1 = He went first and he had everything set up. Star Hall and the puzzle.
g2 = My hand only had Secrets and Judgment useful so I got no choice but to do it. He didnt have Droll so I got early advantage. Game took so long with me winning using 3 Kycoos (1 is his that I got using Puppet) and a Star Hall with 15 counters. Time was called.
g3 = Last 3 turns :( He went first and used Judgment and Secret to add Wisdom then I use Droll. He summon Kycoo and set Wisdom. I summon Batel to Secrets that added Sefer but he used Droll to end my searching. I set Judgment, Wisdom, Sefer, and activated Star Hall. His turn I activated Judgment and he did a lot to summon Jowgen at end phase while also damaging me using his Kycoo. My turn I drew Veiler. My hand got 8 Spellbooks but all was useless since it was my last turn and I needed to inflict more that 1300 dmg to him. Tried to pump my Batel using Star Hall and Power but his last set card was a 2nd Wisdom. gg
If only I got more time I could have stalled and waited til I was able to get rid of his Kycoo since he only got 2 cards left in his hand while I got 8+. Well, cant do anything about that.
Here's my decklist..
Im so sleepy now so maybe I'll just edit this with my comments about this list later night.
Thanks for reading!

I was left with Soul Drain so I was still ok but he got MST after a lil' while.
g3 = Puzzle complete.
He spams King Feral Imp and Giganto each turn lol.
g3 = Puzzle complete.
Round5: vs. 3-axis Fire Fist 0-x-0
g1 = Puzzle complete.
g2 = He spammed a lot in his turn while I had no Maxx C or Veiler so he got an overwhelming advantage against my mediocre draw.
g3 = Puzzle complete.
Round6: vs. Dragons 0-x-x
g1 = Puzzle complete.
g2 = Puzzle complete but he toppled it using Heavy Storm, Dark Hole, and Blaster.
Round7: vs. Mermail 0-0-
g1 = Puzzle complete.
g2 = He made Gaios and Kappa but I had Dark Hole then locked him out.

Back again. PH Asia Qualifier results
Been awol for how many months now but I'm back again to live up to my blog's description that you can see above, lol.
I think explanations are needed to be given as to why I've been out blogger for a long while.
1. Career forced to live on the provinces where Yugioh is nonexistent.
2. Internet connection there is unstable so wasn't even able to play decent games online.
3. Stuck on Machina Gadget deck for a long while so nothing new to share too.
Luckily, I was able to move my career to a place much closer to home and the city so for the past few weeks I came back to the local shop regularly, got a new deck, and played more games so here's a few things I want to share. There's a lot I want to write about so I'll make this into a series of posts...
===============================================================
Lemme start with the concluded Philippines ACQ. We played before the new banlist was applied so Windups are still top tier and you can still encounter the shit turtle-ing under the protection of 2x Warning and a Judgment, but still, 104 players arrived and played for the chance to win the Thailand trip.
For now I'll just put the results.
104 players
7 rounds of swiss + Top 16 cut
Top 16 comprised of
3 Fire Fist (2x 4star, 1x 3/4star)
2 Mermail
2 Machina Gadget
2 Agents
1 Windup, Verz, BF, Six Samurai, Prophecy, Wind-Incarnate Chaos Dragon, Sacred
Top8
Irwin Arogo (Fire Fist 3/4-star) vs. Louren Vidad (Agents) = Agents win
Alvin Lim (Fire Fist 4-star) vs. Karlo Evangelista (Mermail) = Mermail win
Jeffrey Maglilong (Sacred) vs. John Kevin Alcantara (Fire Fist 4-star) = Sacred win
Me (Mermail) vs. Yuki Karikomi (Wind-Up) = Mermail win
*shockingly, all the Fire Fist decks were eliminated this round
Top4
Louren (Agents) vs. Jeffrey (Sacred) = Agents win
Me (Mermail) vs. Karlo (Mermail) = I win
Finals
Lost to Agents but he can't go as he says he is busy with study and is minor so I go instead. Lucky. lol
He should have said so right at the beginning lol.
Here's a rundown of what I encountered during swiss (in order):
Green = won, Red = lost
Agents >> Samurai >> Arrive Hero >> Agents >> Verz >> Agents >> Prophecy
As you can see, I can confidently say that Agents was the most represented deck in the tournament. Actually I expected more of Gadgets and Fire Fists decks w/o the promos and those were the ones that I made my side deck around. I also expected after the top 8 cut that all the Fire Fist decks would have advanced to Top 4 since they were complete with the promos and is the most dreaded deck in the tournament but it didnt happen. So unexpected.
Verz, another deck considered as top tier, were represented by few ppl. Plus, the inherent bad matchup of the deck against Fire Fist is hard to fix here in the Philippines as only a handful of ppl have sets of Forbidden Holy Lance and most of these ppl are running Fire Fists too. lol
Prophecies were only represented by 3-4 people, I think. Lots of ppl are unprepared for this matchup as some dont even know how absurd Divine Judgment's effect is. However, perhaps the odds were still against them as only 3-4 Prophecies are facing off against 101 other ppl. There's a big risk of them being eliminated even though I consider the deck as the most powerful currently. This is proven as 1 Prophecy deck reaches Top 16. I heard he lost because he drew badly while pitted against Raioh. lol
That's it for our Asia Qualifiers. There's still 2 mos. till the Asia Championships in Thailand so there's still a lot of time for the meta to change (if it does at all) and for me to decide which deck to use. I enjoy playing Mermail and adding Tidal (Water Incarnate Dragon) gives a whole lot of help (Ill talk about it in my next post). But im still iffy if it'd be the deck I'll use forThailand. So there.
Well, I hope you enjoyed my comeback post and see you next time.

T-Report: Asia Format 10/7/12
It's the third tourney report in a row I'm writing about, haha, and sadly, it didn't end like all the previous ones.
It's sort of bigger than the rest also since the tournament prize was a Gold Box for the champion (not that much but better than what we usually have) so the player turnout was higher too. I didn't get to take note of how many exactly though but I guess it was around 24+.
Deck Used: Offering Machina Gadgets
4-round Swiss then Top 10 cut (since there were 3 seeded players, lol)
Round1: vs. Piper Chaos 0-0-
G1 = I made a GigantX and ended as I had a hand full of Gadgets. He summoned Cyber Vary and ended as well. That tipped me off that he could be using DSummon's new Photon deck or a Piper deck. I tried to take the Vary for myself using Big Eye but he Veiler'd so I continued to push then nxt turn made a Shock Ruler.
G2 = He had Decree'd me early so I wasn't able to push hard. Wasn't able to draw removals till I drew Fortress. I had Shock Ruler but he took it with Creature Swap. I attacked it with Fortress but he used Honest so I got rid of his Decree and had all my traps online and won.
Round2: vs. Roy (Genex Mermail) 0-x-x
G1 = I set 4 and he took out a Compulsory with his set Abyssphere but I was left with Torrential, Warning, and Judgment. With these traps I was able to at least have both of us go to top decking mode. I drew and was able to make a GigantX and ditched both hand for Fortress and left him with 400 LP. He was able to make a LV7 synchro and he opted for Black Rose Dragon and ended. I drew a MaxxC and attacked with it next turn. If he made a Gungnir instead, he would've won.
G2 = Decree and got combo'd
G3 = Time was called. Made a Gigant X and ended. I didnt draw traps again. He set 2 cards. I need to damage him at least so I made a Maestroke and Fortress as I know he is running 2 Mirror Forces. He took all the damage and I was confident I'd win since I have a Maxx C and Dark Hole in hand if ever he has an answer to my monsters. His turn I used Maxx C then he used Ultimate Offering to make a Mist Wurm that bounced all my monsters. I discarded Megalo from his hand as he might be hiding a Salvage or Avarice in his set cards but it was Monster Reborn. I got OTK'd that turn since I didn't draw Tragoedia nor Scarecrow. :(
Round3: vs. Lightsworn 0-0-
G1 = He got Lumina+Garoth+Wulf+Gardna(mill). Seems perfect opening but I had Offering. Made Shock Ruler and denied all his monster effects.
G2 = Macro Cosmos locked him out.
Round4: vs. Rock Stun 0-0-
G1 = He drew a Xyz monster and he conceded.
G2 = He traded his Koaki Wall for my MST and I just set my traps not summoning a Gadget. His turn he summonded a Gogogo Giant and attacked. It went to defense after. I summoned a Gadget and he used Skill Drain but I used Seven Tools for it. He didn't draw enough monsters compared to my backrow so I won.
Top12: vs. X-Sabers 0-x-0
G1 = Black Corn on his Emmersblade, saved my BTH for Faultrol, and it was smooth sailing.
G2 = He got me denied of my Gadgets with Saber Hole and didn't drew another copy while he kept attacking with Boggart. He made Shien with his Hermit and Pashuul and it was gg
G3 = Macro Cosmos and Mind Crush locked him down.
Top8: vs. Rock Stun 0-0-
G1 = His Grand Mole kept attacking to my monsters as he didn't have any choice so I won eventually thru advantage.
G2 = He kept on negating my Gadgets with Koaki Guardian but I have Call of the Haunteds so I still have the advantage.
Top4: vs. TG Agents x-0-x
G1 = I got him running with only 1200 LP left while using only Photon Slasher coz I didnt draw any Gadgets. Somehow he got rid of it and I didn't draw any Gadget at all. :( I had Double Summons ready if ever I was able to draw 1.
G2 = Used Deck Devastation Virus on him on his 1st turn and killed the infield Balls (Venus eff) and a Werewolf. I knew all his cards for the next 3 turns so I won with playing around them.
G3 = Made GigantoX but got no traps but had Maxx C. He summons Cyber Dragon. Ditched Maxx C. He made Chimeratech, Venus + 3 balls + Xyz into Gachi + BLS. I drew like 6 cards but didn't get Tragoedia or Scarecrow again. :( wtf is with my dumb luck.
So in the end, I felt bad about my loss. Not drawing Trago nor Scarecrow when your opponent disregarded good logic against Maxx C is so retarded. It's like dumb luck is rewarding those players who just continued with their OTK while thinking they don't care about Trago, Gorz, Fader, or Scarecrow.

T-Report: New Asia Format 10/6/12
Goodnews: Finally we can now get to use promo cards in our Asia Format.
Badnews: I'll be returning to the provinces again tomorrow for my flight training. I'll miss Yugioh again and a stable internet connection.
So before I go, I'll want to practice my deck setup for the team tournament qualifier this end of October. I won't be able to practice irl again. Well, I think I can get to join a tournament before I travel tomorrow.
Deck Used: Offering Machina Gadget
Participants: 16
Single Eliminations
Round1: vs. Chaos Dragons 0-x-0
G1 = He summoned Lyla and ended to milled cards including a Zephyros. I drew 3 Gadgets, a trap, mst, and Trago. I summon a Gadget and ended. He summoned Debris Dragon and revived something. He summoned Light Pulsar Dragon next and synchro'd a Trident Dragion. wtf. He revived Zephyros and used Trident's effect. Luckily, I had that Tragoedia so I didnt get killed that turn. I have lots of advantage by then so I won eventually.
G2 = Time was called and I lost in the end, so...
G3 = Last 3 turns, but I had Inverz Roach on my 1st turn so got super control of the game.
Round2: vs. Anti-Meta 0-x-0
G1 = Expected him to have Raioh. Reserved my Dark Hole for it and my MSTs to his set cards before that.
G2 = Didn't know he uses Emergency Teleport so I ate a Black Rose Dragon, then a Wisel. lol, shouldn't have sided out my Starlight Road.
G3 = Ultimate Offering. nuff said
Round3: vs. Black Feather 0-0-
G1 = Was able to use Ultimate Offering on his turn. Summoned 3 Gadgets then he SS'd Gale to make Black Rose Dragon at MP2 and wiped the board along with his traps. Got advantage so I won eventually.
G2 = Ultimate Offering + Limiter Removal. Sorry man. haha
Finals: vs. Chaos Lightsworn x-0-0
G1 = Got Storm'd and he summoned Pulsar, Judgment Dragon, and Red Eyes.
G2 = Poor mills for him. Used Black Corn on his Card Trooper. He didn't get his grave running.
G3 = He summoned Trooper and milled mediocre. Used Black Corn on it again and set Mind Crush, Macro Cosmos, and Prison. Used Crush on his turn and called Storm. He doesnt have it and I saw Red eyes, Dark Flare, Trago, Plague, Judgment Dragon and Foolish Burial. He discarded my Gadget. He used Foolish, I chained Macro. He made Black Rose Dragon with Pulsar and Plague. We went to top decking as time was called. I won when he cannot get over my Utopia and Inverz Roach.
Got lots of side against the mirror but didn't meet any today so hopefully I can get to do so tomorrow.
Thanks for reading!

T-Report: Old Asia Format 9/30/12
I say Old Asia format since until now we aren't allowed to use promo cards. Hope we can get to do so for the team tournament qualifier this end of October. Tried Gadgets so I can have a good feel if it is valid for me to use in the coming qualifiers.
Deck Used: Offering Machina Gadgets
Participants: 16
Single Eliminations
Round1: BYE. opp didnt show up. Lucky to have free win. Unlucky to get no practice
Round2: vs. Chiro Morillo (Six Samurai) 0-0-
G1 = No 1st turn Shien but he used a lot of Fiendish Chains. He misplayed with his Heavy Storm (3-2 exchange, his loss) which enabled my Chain'd Fortress to move again.
G2 = He ended with only a set card. Me did the same (Ultimate Offering). He used Gateway and United and used Ascetism with his normal summoned Hermit. I activated my f/d Offering before he had a Shien and used MaxxC. I drew 10 cards with him completing a field of Excalibur, 2 Kizans, Shien, Grandma. He attacked but I summoned a 6000 ATK Trago, gg.
Round3: vs. Vincent Lim (Agents) X-0-0
G1 = Both of us were farming 5-6 cards in hand while still able to commit considerably on the field. But in the end I was the one who first got to spend more cards early since a Catastor and Hyperion is hard to kill without Dark Hole.
G2 = Venus+Gachi got over my Gearframe. I killed Venus back with Photon Slasher, summon Gadget, then made a Maestroke to defend. Both of us had def monsters and it went back and forth but I think he had subpar draws so I got game.
G3 = Venus+Gachi but killed by Photon Slasher again, lol. Slasher is a success, haha. I set 2, he used Storm, I chain Complusory to get rid of his Gachi. Tried to push for game a few turns after and won. Looks like he got no more monsters to press with.
Finals: vs. Brian (Chaos(?) Machina Gadget) 0-0-
G1 = He set a Ryko, it destroyed my f/d. Though it was a tech but next he summoned a BLS to directly attack me but I summoned a 3000 atk Tragoedia. Nxt turn it went over BLS and it was smooth sailing to victory.
G2 = He used Mind Crush to send my Green Gadget to GY but I had a Red Gadget and Ultimate Offerring. He bluffed two cards f/d but I pushed and got game.
My impressions of today:
-Photon Slasher owns. haha. Kills a lot of turn1 biggies like Venus, Kizan, Gearframe
-Mirror Force is so good.
-Gagaga Gunman! haha, its not safe to leave 500 LP when paying for Ultimate Offering.
-Tried to use Chaos Hope to end the finals but fail. No achievement. :(
Pros of the deck if I use it in team:
-doesn't use Duality, so I can give it to someone else
-doesn't use other Xyz besides Rank 4 and only uses 1 of each xcept Giganto
-doesn't require to use power staples such as Reborn and Heavy Storm
-lots of good cards that you can use even without a couple of staples
-can side in hate cards like Cosmos and other continuous traps
Cons:
-lots of traps
-predictable deck, one-trick pony deck, Many expect the deck to be used in the tournamnet
-easily dies to a well-planned or crazy-drawn OTK
-has problems dealing against 2500+ monsters and esp. Catastor/Tiras/Crimson Shadow
-easily locked by Raioh
Got my prizes and left the store to go to our friend's house for a birthday party. haha.

So Rabbit's weakest matchup is Grapha? lol
Dark World won TCG's 100th YCS Anniversary Tournament that was attended by who-knows-how-many-there-are-really duelists that were estimated to be 4200+.
Congratulations to the winner - Michael Balan - as (quoting him) he defeated a total of 7 Rabbit matchups.
The first thing that came to my mind was...
.......how the hell did Grapha survive Macro Cosmos???
Surely it was not because of the Gellenduo that Balan sided. (lol, what happened to good ol' Snowman?)
Royal Decree may be a relevant factor but it wasn't like Rabbit players don't expect it against them. Decree is the first card I WOULD side in against Rabbit (after Snowman Eater/Rykos).
So how did Grapha and his armies win?
(im surprised I dont see Grapha making a proud post at the Konami blog yet)
Its coz the Rabbit player drew the worst hand possible in a finals match.
Triple Kabazauls?
Double Fiendish Chain? (y didnt he side this out?)
No Rabbit drawn?
lolgg. I see what he did there. :))

T-Report: 3/3/12 Asia Format
Went to the official store yesterday to join the first tournament of the new banlist.
(Can't say new format since it is still Inzector-Ragia-Windup format).
3/3/12 Asia Format
Participants: 16
Deck Used: Inzectors
My objective for today is to try using Card Car D in the deck and feel if it is beneficial or not.
From the usual decklist of Trooper Inzectors I removed...
-1 Armageddon Knight (ran only 1 copy before)
-1 Effect Veiler (ran 3 copies before)
-1 MST (ran 2 copies before)
to add...
+1 Gruf
+2 Card Car D
Replacing Armaknight with Inzector Gruf is common sense since Gruf satisfies the reason why we run Armaknight (to get Hornet). My theory-oh tells me that even though I reduce the copies of Veiler and MST, with 2 Card Car D's replacing them, I should still have the same odds of drawing them back. Also, I dont like to use 3 Cars since I dont want to draw another Car with the effect. This is also the reason why I reduced Veiler and only added 1 Gruf.
Round1: vs. Timothy Vivit (Inzectors) 0-x-0 *won die roll
G1 = Drew 2 with Car 1st turn, then Duality. Veiler'd his Damsel, survived DAD, and did my stunts.
G2 = (I side out Cars when I go 2nd) My Hornet gets Crowed. Went back and forth using all the luck I have to counter all his Inzector plays. When it came to the point that he had no more Inzector in the deck, no card in hand, and only Revise, Leviair, and Centi on field, my luck ran out and didnt draw any Centi or Damsel to pair with my Foolish Burial in hand.
G3 = Drew 2 with Car again and got Allure and another Car when I had no DARKs in hand. lol. I hate drawing a 2nd Car. Again, stalled his play using Reborn on his Hornet and hid it under Zenmaines. In the end, a Veiler on his Inzektor then spamming my own won the game.
Round2: vs. Orlando Rivera (Wind-up Inzectors) 0-x-0 *won die?
Cant remember much from this except that I, again, drew Car B with Car A's effect. >_< Damn. Should I just play 1 Card Car D? Good thing I had Duality too to get good traps. Also, I recall using Maxx C when he tried to loop me. He continued and tossed my Damsels but got 8? hand cards after his stunts and Soul Release. Still won coz of super card advantage.
Semis: vs. Rabbit Ragia x-0-x *lost die
G1 = 1st turn Ragia with backrows of Demon's Chain, etc. Didn't have a good draw to retaliate so I tried to bait his Ragia's effect with Car since I have Storm drawn., but he didn't lol. This is the matchup where I regret not maining 2 MSTs.
G2 = 1st turn Car + Duality with set Warning and Decree. He summons Sabersaurus, I negated it. He set 3 cards. I used Decree. I forgot how he tried to remove Decree but he failed to do so. He had 2 Shadow Mirrors, Fiendish Chain, and Cosmos? facedown. wow.
G3 = I got him pinned by Decree but didnt have Inzectors to apply pressure. He beat me down to 1700LP then I got Centipede. Killed his Breaker and Grand Mole on field. But died when he used Dark Hole and attacked directly with his top draw Guaiba (his only monster).
The Finals match was Ragia vs Ragia so I didnt watch it anymore.
In the end I get another Booster Pack as prize for getting to Semis, lol. Got the Cyda-like Hieroglyph and sold it. Well, at least I get my entrance money back, lol. Plus, I get good practice against Inzectors and Ragia.
Card Car D was playing 50-50 in my mind now. I hate drawing Car then Car again. Next time I'll try to just main 1 Car and replace the other with another Gruf.
Thanks for reading!

T-Report! 1/7/12 Asia Format
Today is a lucky day, lol.
GS2012 is released today and lots of players bought boxes and packs. Estimated prices of each single card plummet by the hour and it wasn't long until one can just ask an acquaintance for 1$ Zenmaines/Stardust, free GR Armageddon Knight, Prisons, etc. Got plenty of free stuffs myself w/o buying a single pack, lol. Expecting to get more next week, XD
Also got a free entry into the Pod 3 (7pm) tournament because a guy bought a GS pack and I was beside him. He said he wasn't gonna enter a tournament with his pack and me and my friend asked if we can enter instead of him. (To enter a tournament here, you need to buy a 150Yen pack. So, 1 150Yen = 1 Entry. But 1 GS pack = 300Yen. That means 2 Entries.) LUCKY! Free game!
Format: Asia Ranking
Single Eliminations
Participants: 16
Deck Used: Inzector Wind-up
Round1: vs. Lightlord 0-x-0
G1 = Able to do Zenmai loop early but dumped a Plague, Bulb, Gardna, and Wulf! zomgwtf! Luckily I had Warning and Judgment to save me from the Chaos Sorcs and Synchros he tried to make.
G2 = Got Light Mirror from Duality. Set LIM, BTH, and Damsel f/d. His turn he blind MSTs the BTH, summoned Ehren and attacked but I flipped LIM to save Damsel. My turn I made the Zenmai loop with my Damsel and Hunter since I didnt draw Hornet and dumped sh1t again like Gardna, Plague?, and Celestia. Misplayed also when I didn't set my MST and he was able to stop my LIM with Decree. Epic fail turn was when I had Centipede faceup, Mind Crush f/d, and drew Hornet as my only hand card. I used Mind Crush and called Judgment Dragon to check his hand and even if I fail to call right Hornet will be dumped and still can be used by Centipede. Saw his hand and he has DDCrow. lolwut, scoop.
G3 = Got LIM again and this time was able to keep control and advantage with Damsel loop.
Round2: vs. Loki (Gladiator Rabbit Ragia) x-0-0
G1 = He summons Rabbit and I Veiler'd. He set 5. I got no Storm nor MST, :( summoned Damsel and equipped Hornet and he flips Macro Cosmos. fail. Tried to kill his Rabbit to prevent Ragia at least but he used Compulsory on Damsel. scoop.
G2 = Went back and forth. My only Hornet was banished by his Retiari. He has Andals, some GBs, and Test Tigers in his deck, lol. Was able to comeback with Zenmai loop to dump some of his cards.
G3 = Rabbit into Ragia + 1 backrow. Looks like he drew bad. Used MST to bait his Ragia but he let it go since it was also MST that he set. I played a little mind game. I had Centibeet and Foolish Burial in hand. I used Duality and took a Hornet and summoned it. Looks like he got confused and he didnt negate. I activate Burial and again he let it go so I dumped another Hornet and his Ragia was killed. He was still able to fight back though until he did Rabbit >> 2 Andals >> Test Tiger >> Bestiari >> Gyzarus >> Laquari and Darius + Retiari from GY. That was 6 special summons! However, I was able to chain Maxx C on the Rabbit effect and also drew to 10 cards in hand. My turn his field and hand got wiped.
G1 = No Ragia but 5 backrow. I used Duality to get MST and summoned Damsel and tried to equip Hornet but he chained Demon's Chain. I thought for a while to not use MST to destroy Chain since he might have a Macro Cosmos set also but used it anyway since if Damsel got negated I dont have any follow-up play next. Luckily he didn't have Cosmos so I got advantage with the Damsel loop.
G2 = Rabbit but I Veiler. He used Duality to get Warning and he set 2 backrow. I have Kappa and another Veiler. I used Duality to get BTH to prevent Ragia and set it along my 2nd Pot and Kappa. His turn he summoned Guaiba >> BTH >> he chains Forb. Lance from his set cards! omg. I Veiler again his Rabbit so he attacks with his 900 ATK Guaiba and my 900 DEF Kappa destroys both his Warning and my Pot but it survived. He made Hope with Guaiba and Rabbit. My turn I had Hornet but no other Inzecter so I used it and Kappa to Xyz Zenmaines to stall. Of course he didnt try to attack it too and he was able to draw Rabbits again earlier than me drawing other Inzecters.
G3 = Drew 2 Centibeets, 2 Instant Fusions, Foolish Burial and Veiler. Summoned Centibeet and equipped it with Hornet and set Ramen. His turn he used Storm. I fetched Damsel. He summoned Kabazauls to kill Centibeet and set 2. Summoned another Centibeet, equipped Hornet and destroyed Chain Disappearance! Wew. Luckily, I learned not to summon Damsel carelessly anymore. Cant remember how but was able to do the Zenmai loop and dumped his 2 other Kabazauls in hand! Last I Xyz a Revise Dragon and attacked Kabazauls but it got killed by Shrink. His turn he drew Guaiba and I used Veiler. He attacked Zenmaighty with Guaiba and Kabazauls attacked directly. He made Ragia in MP2. Summoned a Damsel but it got negated of course and set BTH from Duality. His turn he got Warning from Duality, omg! My turn I drew Heavy Storm!!! I also got Damsel in hand, win!
Finals: vs. Orlando (TG Agent Angel) 0-0-
G1 = Zenmai loop dumped his hand.
G2 = He had Shadow Mirror. But was able to draw Heavy Storm a couple of turns later so was able to do Damsel loop into Zenmai loop to dump his hand.
Final Result: 1st Place. Got 2 ORCS packs and a TP. Pulled a 3D Chaos Hope and an Ulti Exa-beetle. TP as usual is crap.
Good way to start the new year! :D Free cards, free tournament, tournament win, and holo prizes!

Update for my last post: New videos up!
In my last post I said that Wslasher had recorded videos of the final matches but it wasn't uploaded yet when I posted the tournament report.
Here's a link to the whole tournament report for the Year-end Showdown
He's done with the editing and uploading so here are the other videos missing...
Edsel Gozon (Inzecters) vs. Christian Discipulo (Graveyard BF)
Finals - Game3
I saw lots of misplays on my part in this video... one is I used MST on his f/d card even though I know (from Dustshoot) that is probably his own MST. Another is my decision to destroy my own Centipede just to trigger Damsel's effect to summon another Centipede from deck. I should have just destroyed my f/d Torrential since it is useless at the moment and since I know he can't outswarm me. >_< Need more practice and need to learn to not get distracted easily by spectators.
Edsel Gozon (Inzecters) vs. Alvin Lim (TG Agent)
Overall Final - Game1
omg, I can't believe my misplays here were so many!!! >_< I'm ashamed.. The first bad move was when I used Armaknight just to dump a Damsel then CoTH for it. Should have realized the 1st trap was a REAL trap. Luckily I had another Damsel to pop. Then the last misplay was when I failed to OTK him. Should really have calculated everything before attacking... sigh..
Edsel Gozon (Inzecters) vs. Alvin Lim (TG Agent)
Overall Final - Game2
Edsel Gozon (Inzecters) vs. Alvin Lim (TG Agent)
Overall Final - Game3
(cant embed the video for some reason so here's a link to it...
Drew 2x Heart of Clears in this game... Him drawing Storm just sealed my loss too. Cant do anything there.
So all in all, the cards that were "hard" to use and wasn't helpful all the time were:
= Torrential Tribute
= Heart of Clear Water
= Book of Moon
= Armageddon Knight (a bit)
With this, I may have space in the deck to put in new cards to try such as PWWB/Raigeki Break, etc.
Also, I need to fix this so the deck is Wind-up Inzecters... not just Inzecters. Need to practice hard for Asia 2012. >_<
That concludes the update. Thanks for reading!

Year-end Showdown! Asia-Format 12/17/11
Before the tournament report, I would like to congratulate Rey Vincent Lim for getting 2nd Place at the 2011 Top Shop Championships held yesterday! Congrats to you and the 2011 Philippine Team!
=======================================================
Last Saturday, the official shop decided to hold a Year-end tournament since that Saturday (12/17) is probably the last day of the year where players would flock the official store since next Saturday is already 12/24 and most would be busy preparing for Christmas celebration.
It was also decided that the format would be the same as the Konami Ranking tournaments. Another note is that there would be two tournaments. One will start at noon with 32 players... the other will start after the 1st finishes with 16 or 32 players depending on registration. That means there will be two winners that day. The two winners will battle for an additional prize donated by the head judge.
Pod1: Asia-Format, Single Eliminations
Participants: 32 (5 rounds)
Deck Used: Wind-Up Inzecters
Round1: vs. Tony (Karakuri) 0-x-x
G1 = Dumped his hand.
G2 = Drew 2x Rats, 2x Damsels, and 2x Chain Disappearance. omg, was I stacked? Was able to use Chain Disappearance on his Male-tuner but got beat-downed coz I wasn't able to set up a Hornet.
G3 = Drew 2x Rats again wtf with a Damsel and Hornet. Set Chain Disappearance and a CotH. Then, I got wiped by Heavy Storm and summoned the 1700 Karakuri and he set 3 cards: Solemn Warning, BTH, and Solemn Judgment. Cant do anything against those. >_<
Result: So I scrubbed the first tournament... lol, 1st round dropout. Wslasher also dropped early so went to go have lunch. We played abit and my draws always had 2x Rat no matter how I shuffle!!! Crazy luck today with Wind-Ups so I decided to play the next tournament with just Inzecters.
BTW, here's a video (courtesy of Wslasher) of the finals in the 1st tournament.
Alvin Lim (TG Agent) vs. Jag Tan (Wind-up Inzecter)
Finals - Game1

==============================================================
Let's move on to the next tournament!
Pod2: Asia-Format, Single Eliminations
Participants: 16 (4 rounds)
Deck Used: Inzecters
Round1: vs. Agent Angel 0-x-0
G1 = OTK'd him with a Damsel with Heart of Clear, Hornet, and Gigamantis.
G2 = Sided in Dimensional Fissures but didnt draw them. One Inzecter got Veiler'd, I used CotH for another one but it got negated by Orange Light, lol. Negate much? He had Cyber Dragons and Venus to beat me down.
G3 = No Fissures again =( . Again same plays, he used Veiler and Orange Light against my monsters. Ahead in card advantage, I was able to pull off another Inzecter next turn to take care of his Jupiter and Kristya.
Round2: vs. Cedric (Agent Angel) 0-0-
G1 = Good draws and no Orange Light easily lead to OTK.
G2 = He had an Earth and a f/d card. Drew Heavy Storm, Dim Fissure, Damsel, Foolish Burial, Trap Dustshoot, and Solemn Judgment!!! God draw? The Dim Fissure left his Orange Light and Hyperion in hand dead.
Round3: vs. Rampy (Agent Angel) x-0-0
G1 = He drew godly and OTK'd me with Holy Wyvern, 2 Hyperions and a BLS.
G2 = He drew Holy Wyvern along his first 6 cards so we went ahead to Game 3. Yey.
G3 = Again he made the same move as G1. 1st turn he made Venus+Gantetsu, set a card, ended. I set Hornet, Torrential, and CoTH. His turn he summoned Breaker and I used Torrential. Cant remember what happened next but I know I was able to OTK him using Damsels and the CotH I set earlier.
Finals: vs. Chan (Graveyard Black Feather) 0-x-0
Edsel Gozon (Inzecters) vs. Christian Discipulo (Graveyard BF)
Finals - Game1
Edsel Gozon (Inzecters) vs. Christian Discipulo (Graveyard BF)
Finals - Game2 part 1
Edsel Gozon (Inzecters) vs. Christian Discipulo (Graveyard BF)
Finals - Game2 part2
Wslasher hasn't uploaded game 3 yet due to technical problems.
G3 = Drew godly again! I had Centipede, Hornet, Dim Fissure, Torrential, Solemn Judg, and Trap Dustshoot! Pitted all of those on my field and his turn I saw his hand I knew most his cards were dead against Dim Fissure so it was control from there. He top drew Duality but it showed him Veiler, Crow, and Armageddon Knight. Haha, fail xD
Result: 1st Place! I won a couple of packs full on "noteworthy" cards except Hornet. fail. Also noticed that before the finals, everyone I fought was using Agents!!! Wew.
But it doesn't end there! Alvin Lim and I will duel it out too!
Extra Round: vs. Alvin Lim (TG Agent) x-0-x
I think Wslasher recorded the duel on video. I cant remember that much except the time I won even though I misplayed and left him 300 LP. Luckily he wasn't able to draw a counter attack. Last thing I remember was when I lost to his OTK of Android, Brili-ant, Gantetsu, and BLS.
So that's it! Still wasn't able to beat Alvin Lim again. >_< Will try again next time, haha, most probably it will be next year. Maybe I could make it one of my new year resolutions? haha.
Noticed that Torrential tribute doesn't mix well with Inzecters. Was that only today or do most ppl think so too? Will fix up the Wind-Up Inzecter build, hopefully next week I wont have to draw 2x Rats anymore.
Thanks for reading!
