The craze is already starting for the newest FTK deck utilizing the new LIGHT Dragon monster from SD22.
Light PulsarDragon
Dragon/Effect
You can banish 1 LIGHT and 1 DARK monster from your Graveyard; Special Summon this card from your hand. You can send 1 LIGHT and 1 DARK monster from your hand to your Graveyard; Special Summon this card from your Graveyard. If this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard: You can target 1 Level 5 or higher DARK Dragon-Type monster from your Graveyard; Special Summon that target.
This is the latest translation for Light Pulsar Dragon.
As you can see, it also has the "If... you can..." trigger the same as the Scrap tuners. This means that the effect is optional but doesn't miss its timing. We all know YGO ppl like to find broken ways to abuse these non-missable effects
Your deck needs Red-eyes Darkness Metal Dragon (also in SD22) in the Graveyard and Toon Cannon Soldier on the field for the setup.
THE FTK/OTK: (I did not make this combo though, it can be easily read from Wikia.)
1. Normal summon Toon Cannon Soldier
2. SS Light Pulsar or REDMD by monster reborn or Light Pulsar's own eff
3. Tribute Pulsar for burn
4. Then Special summon REDMD via Pulsar eff
5. Tribute Redmd and Pulsar for burn
6. Troll and Repeat
Can be stopped by Effect Veiler and Orange Light if you drew them 1st turn though. Maxx "C" can help you get those Veilers.
Enjoy!

Six Samurai - *****(5)
Blackwing - **
Lightsworn - *
Machina Gadget - *
Karakuri - *
Agents, TG or not, is the deck-to-beat here. Usually in an 8-man tournament, you can see 3-5 persons running the deck. September has been full of Agent decks topping while October there have been none. Reading the other blogs, they say Singapore is now Agent-free in their winning decks. Will we follow suit?
Six Samurai is another notable deck. Considered dead by most, it is the deck dominating October so far. Maybe because people usually dont dedicate cards in their side anymore for Samurais and are caught offguard. Blackfeather decks, specifically Graveyard BF, got 2 wins, followed by single wins from LS, Machina, and Karakuri decks.
No show yet for Junk Doppel, Dark World, Rabbit Ragia, Offering Gadgets, etc.
Apart from Dark World, these decks rely much on promo and asia-illegal cards such as Librarian, Jurracs, Roach, Disigma, Shock Ruler, and other promo Xyz monsters that's why winning is harder for them against the multitude of Agents.
November is coming and so are the premier tournaments. I'll keep this tally updated weekly and put it up here in the blog. I'll place it as a page.

New events and T-Report: 10/8/11 Ranking Tournament
Two major tournaments are going to be held by the end of next month. Both are Philippine qualifiers for:
I'll be with my last year's Team 3DS (me, William Sy, and Jaison Tan) for the Team Tournament and hopefully win again to defend our title. ^^ With that decided, I think that I'll need to prioritize the Store Championships first.
The weekly Zexal Ranking tournaments we have are now also qualifiers for the Store Championship which is an invitational tournament. Therefore, every Saturday there will be 3 qualifier tournaments and 3 persons will be given an invite for the Store Champs. I'll need to grab an invite if I want to join so I joined the 1st qualifiers.
Ranking Tournament 10/8/11
Store Championship Qualifiers 1
Deck Used: Graveyard Black Feather
(Dont feel like using my Junkdo that day so I managed to borrow my friend's GY-BF deck and tweaked it to suit my style)
Round1: vs. Piper Burn 0-0- *won die roll
At first, I was nervous coz I didnt expect this matchup at all. However, as the game went on, Scrap Dragon and Trishula raked in card advantage for me. Solemn Judgment also sealed his last card that attempted to burn me out of LP.
Round2: vs. Dark World 0-0- *lost die roll
An early Heavy Storm on his 3 cards forced him to activate his Eradicator Virus which he called right and ate 2 of the my inhand traps. However, his Dealings helped me more than it helped him coz I was tossing Vayus to the GY to speed up my OTK. I sided in Gemini Imps on game 2 and it negated his Dragged Down and key Card Destruction.
Round3: vs. Chito (TG Agent Angel) 0-x-0 *lost die roll
Chito is the 2011 Open Champion. ^^ He was able to do Venus + Gantetsu but was unable to draw into another Fairy until I was able to clear his field and win. He had Kristya and Hyperions in hand but only had Venus and 2 Shine Balls in gy. Game 2 I was locked out by Kristya and a 3600 ATK Tragoedia. Game 3 he MST'd my Torrential and swarmed Striker and 2 Warwolfs. He summoned Wonder Magician and I chained Light Mirror, lol. He regretted doing a blind MST.
Finals: vs. Jay (Machina Gadget) 0-x-0
DAD won game 1 easily but game 2 I was out of good cards in hand and he kept pressuring with Gadgets and Fortress. Game 3 he activated Zombie World which prevented me from making Chimeratech Fortress with my Cydra. However, I was up with 1 card in advantage because of that and it slowly stacked up till he used Crevice from Diff Dimension when I attempted to use Vayu, I used Burial from Diff Dimension to return what he banished, summoned DAD and won.
Final result: 1st place! Won an invite for the Store Championships but no card prizes except for one crap TP17. There's no entrance fee for the Store Championships though.
So I won the 1st Qualifier that day. My teammate, William, won the 2nd qualifier with his Six Samurai deck, again. 3rd qualifier was won with another Six Samurai deck. No Agents won this weekend, lol.
Six Sam grudge comeback?
Tomorrow I'll post a tally of the winning decks in the Philippines in the Zexal Ranking tournaments. No decklists though, :p

Maxx C and 2 T-Reports: 10/1/11 Asia Format & 10/2/11 Open
Weekend school is over and I now have time to join the weekend tournaments! :)
Its almost a week since the release of EXP4 here in the Philippines and I thought I'll have a hard time getting Maxx "C"s. I wanted to get at least 2 copies since I wanted to main 2 in my Junk Doppel. Luckily, I got 2 copies that day although I didn't get the 2nd copy before the Ranking tournament.
Participants: 16 players
Single Eliminations
Deck: Quick Junk Doppel (No Gorz, Librarian, and Quasar T_T )
Round1: vs. Yuki (TG Agent Angel) 0-0- *won die roll
G2 = Drew spells and traps with my opening hand but I have Maxx "C". Epic time was when I had both Ryko and Book f/d with 4 cards in hand and 5600 LP left. He SS'd Striker and normal summoned Venus. He used its effect and I chain Maxx "C" to draw. He continued to summon 3 Balls (+3 cards to me), I Book'd his Striker. Made a Gantetsu (+1 draw). Used Monster Reborn for another Striker (+1 card). Summoned BLS (+1 draw). Made Arms Aid (+1 draw). Equipped it to BLS and attacked Ryko. It destroyed his BLS and he wasn't able to OTK me. Was able to Trishula him next turn despite him having DD Crow and got rid of his last hand card.
Round2: vs. Dark World x-0-0 *lost die roll
G1 = He set a monster and 2 backrows. I didnt know he was using DW so I just set a Ryko. His turn he used Lightning on Ryko, set some cards, flipped Morphing Jar, used Dragged Down into the Grave and I lost. He also had Skill Drain f/d when I tried to make Black Rose Dragon.
G2 = He drew poorly he said so I did Junk Synchron play into Trishula and spammed more synchros there.
G3 = He set 3 cards to his backrow. I summoned Trooper, milled, and attacked. He didn't do anything. I didnt set my traps thinking he got Lightnings set as bluff and I was right. Pressured him with Trooper to make him summon his Beige and killed it with another Trooper.
Semis: vs. Chris (Quick Junk Doppel) x-x- *won die roll
G1 = Got the things to make Quasar 1st turn but unfortunately this was Asia format so I just left Dandy in defense. He set a monster and I removed it with Trishula next turn. Should have won from there but I made plenty of misplays because of being conservative and he was able to mill cards with Ryko to recover and win.
G2 = My punishment for my misplay wasn't over yet. I drew 2 Quickdraws, 1 Doppel, Veiler, and more useless cards. Passed and his turn he only set 1 backrow. I drew Bulb but he used Trap Dustshoot to return Veiler. Could have made a Nitro Warrior + Formula or a Nitro Warrior into Trishula... but I didnt have Nitro Warrior in my extra deck. lol fail. His turn he made a Trishula, Formula, Drill Warrior, Shooting Star Dragon.
If I had my 2nd Maxx "C", could I have survived that turn? The next day I joined another tournament to try again when I had 2 Maxx "C"s mained.
========================================================
10/2/11 Open Format
Participants: 16
Single Eliminations
Deck Used: Quick Junk Doppel (promos alllowed now ^^)
Round1: vs. Relinquished/Spell Village 0-0- *won die roll
G1 and G2 = Somewhat lucky for this matchup. Was able to draw with Maxx C here when he made a Naturia Beast (+2 draws) and a Relinquished (+1 draw).
Round2: vs. Lightlord Junk Doppel 0-0- *lost die roll
G1 = Drew 3 with Librarian + Formula + Dragonfly and Trishula'd him on his turn.
G2 = Maxx C won me again when he: summoned Junk Synchron for Bulb (+1 draw), SS'ed Doppel (+1 draw), made Librarian and tokens (+2 draw), made Formula (+1 draw). He got 2 draws while I got 5, lol. Won against him with Leeching the Light that I drew with Maxx C
Round3: vs. Arrive Gladiator Beast 0-0- *lost die roll
G1 = He was able to make Heraklinos early with 3 hand cards and 3 backrows. Made a Black Rose but it got negated with Solemn Judgment. I thought that was his last card to stop summons and was right. Next turn made a Junk Synchron play to spam synchros and BLS.
G2 = He used A Hero Arrives, I chain Maxx C. He summoned Prismer (+1 draw), revived his GB (+1 draw), fused into Gyzarus (+1 draw), I veilered it to prevent it from tagging out. He attacked and I dropped Gorz. Gorz and its token ate all his backrows when I attacked and in MP2 I spammed Synchros.
The final match was against a friend so we agreed to share the prize and go home early.
It was really fun to draw plenty of extra cards with Maxx C when your opponent tries to OTK you only to be stopped by a 3000-6000 ATK Tragoedia, Gorz, or Effect Veiler. The extra cards you draw also gives you more options to play next turn as you might have drawn Reborn, BLS, boss monsters, etc that can make you overpower what your opponent summoned last turn.
Maxx C can also be summoned by both Junk Synchron and Debris Dragon ^^. It hasn't disappointed me so far so it looks like I'll keep it mained in the meantime. I'll try to test maining them with my Chaos Lightlord next time.

2011 Phil. Open Championships Report
Four days ago we had the 2011 Open Championships. Lots of players and trader alike went to see who will be the winner that will take home the PS3 prize. Wasn't able to make this post earlier since a typhoon hit our region and electricity and internet was cut.
Champion: brand new PS3 console + trophy
2nd place: DREV complete card set + trophy
3rd place: 1 box EXP4+ trophy
4th place: 12 PHSW packs
5th-8th: 7 PHSW packs
Door Prize: 1 pack JP or AE Booster Pack + 1 Commemorative Tshirt
Total Participants: 76 players!
Deck Used: Frog Monarchs
Im expecting a lot of Agent matchups that day so I didnt use my Junkdo deck.
G1 = Didnt draw frogs until he was able to swarm
G2 = Early LaDD control. Noticed he didnt have any Barriers in his deck
G3 = Went back and forth. He was always lucky with his top draws since game1. He should be able to Trishula me 1 time but he didnt have it, so lucky me.
Standing: 1-0
Round2: vs. Cliff (Tengu Scrap) x-x- *lost die roll?
G1 = Got Trapdust, Mind Crush, and Aoi in hand but no frogs. Knew what his cards and his moves will be but didnt have anything to summon
G2 = Same draws. Should've really mained Dualities if I knew my luck was this bad.
Standing: 1-1
Round3: vs. Jag (Tour Guide Gallis Agent Angel) 0-x-0 *won die roll
G1 = Summoned Swap Frog, he Veiler. I return it then SS it again, he Orange Light pitching Kristya. I Reborn his Kristya to win.
G2 = He summoned Tour Guide 1st turn. Killed Sangan and he fetched Gallis. I Mind Crushed Gallis when he used its effect and also saw 2x Chaos Sorcs, Birdman, Venus, Gorz! Too imba hand.
G3 = Early LaDD won again.
Standing: 2-1
Round4: vs. Terrence (Dark World) 0-0- *won die roll
G1 = Got to see his hand with Mind Crush and Aois. Controlled from there
G2 = Saw his hand again. I Reborn his Grapha to control.
Standing: 3-1
Round5: vs. Alvin Lim (Agent Angel) x-x- *lost die roll
G2 = Saw his hand with Aoi. He got Venus (from Earth), Kristya, Reborn, Orange, and something else. Got no choice but to discard his Venus. He revived it, spammed Balls, and got his setup for Kristya. I should have set the Torrential Tribute instead of saving it (was scared of early Storm).
Standing: 3-2 (losing confidence of making it to top8 now)
Round6: vs. JB (TG Agent Angel) 0-0-? not sure *won die roll
G1 and G2 = not really sure how it went. I kinda forgot. But I remember when I had LaDD which negated most of his cards.
Standing: 4-2
After this round I saw that my rank for the tournament was Rank 11 and got my hopes up again. I know that if I win the last round, I'll have a chance for Top 8.
Round7: vs. Noel (Chaos Metabeat) 0-x-0 *won die roll
G1 = Saw his hand and was able to control from there though I didnt have Frogs again. His Doomcaliber was always killed by Veiler.
G2 = He Trapdust+Mind Crush me. Payback, lol? haha, I got the same hand as game1. Aois and no frogs.
G3 = Very close fight. From 5 cards in hand, we went to 2 cards, then back to 5 again. I decided to use 1 Mind Crush and guess wrong just to see what he had. He had Gorz (he had no field), Cydra, Chaos Sorc? and other things. I used another Mind Crush to get rid of Gorz and used Swap Frog to poke his LP without giving him a chance to summon Cydra.
Standing: 5-2
Since I won, I really thought I would get to play in the Top8. However, when the final standings were up, I saw that I went down to Rank 12 even though I won my last match. T_T Didn't know how and why that happened but they said the Konami software's tiebreakers is very different from the Mantis software we were used to.
Final Rank: Top 12. Got a ANPR booster as extra prize and pulled a Rooklord which I sold for $5. Got money for dinner now, lol.
Here's a decklist of what I used today:
Monsters: 24
3 Swap Frog
2 Dupe Frog
1 Ronintoadin
1 Snowman Eater
3 Caius the Shadow Monarch
2 Light and Darkness Dragon

- William "Wslasher" Sy - Six Samurai
- Kenneth Magcaleng - Arrive Gladiator Beast
- Cliff Georpe - Tengu Scrap

Top 8 = Alvin Lim (Agent Angel) vs Cliff Georpe (Tengu Scrap) win
Top 8 = Kenneth Magcaleng (Arrive GB) vs. Chito Racimo (Agent Angel) win
Top 8 = Timothy Vivit (Agent Angel) win vs. William Sy (Six Samurai)
Top 8 = Melvin Sta. Maria (TG) vs. Dominic Magbutay (TG Drain) win
The Top 4 matches are as follows:
Top 4 = Cliff (Tengu Scrap) win vs. Timothy (Agent Angel)
Top 4 = Dominic (TG) vs. Chito (Agent Angel) win
Final results are:
3rd Place:
Timothy Vivit with Agent Angel
2nd Place
Cliff Georpe with Tengu Scrap
Champion: Chito Racimo with Agent Angel
Congratulations to the winners!
As you can see, Agents won the tournament, occupied almost half of the Top 8 and I am sure it is the deck most represented today. The next major tournament will be the Asian Team Tournament on November and I am sure Agents will also be the deck to beat next month.

Veggies, Tourneys, and PS3
Don't be fooled by the title, this post still talks about Yugioh. :p
It's 4 more days until the 2011 Phil. Open Championships and here is a picture of the prize for 1st place!
It's the 3rd Open Championship now and looking back to the previous ones...
2009 = 1st: Christian Discipulo with Anti-Meta
2010 = 1st: Alvin Lim with Hero Metabeat
===================================================
Last time I said I was using a deck I called "chopseuy". Here it is...
Monsters: 26
1 Dark Armed Dragon
2 Chaos Sorcerer
1 Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning
2 Tragoedia
1 Gorz
2 Card Trooper
1 Lightlord Summoner Lumina
1 Lightlord Sorceress Lyla
3 Lightlord Hunter Ryko
3 Lightlord Beast Wulf
2 Necro Gardna
1 Plaguespreader Zombie
1 Grow-up Bulb
1 Spore
1 Dandylion
1 Sangan
2 Destiny Hero - Malicious
Spells: 13
1 Allure of Darkness
2 Destiny Draw
3 Solar Recharge
1 Charge of the Light Brigade
1 One for One
1 Foolish Burial
1 Heavy Storm
1 Dark Hole
1 Monster Reborn
1 The Warrior Returning Alive
Trap: 1
1 Trap Dustshoot
Talk about bad deckbuilding, right? lol
Its great when...
= you draw Solar Recharges and a LS
= then you draw another Solar Recharge and a LS, OR
= you draw Destiny Draw with Malicious
= you draw Trooper, mill great +/- Wulf/s, and have a Trago/Gorz in hand
= you can do the Plant tricks
Its SOOO bad when...
= you draw Solar Recharge but no LS
= you draw DDraw but no DHero (happens aLOT at early game)
= you draw Warrior Returning Alive but got no mill yet
= you dont draw Trooper and/or Trago/Gorz
= you draw the plants and gardnas
= you draw multiple Wulfs
= you draw 2 Malicious or milled them both
= OR wtf... you draw 3 Wulfs and 2 Destiny Draws/2 Malicious! (believe me, this happened to me 2x!)

It's 4 more days until the 2011 Phil. Open Championships and here is a picture of the prize for 1st place!
Last year was a PSP... now it is a PS3!
I know the PS3 is already out for a few years now but who wouldn't want to own a new console, right? I dont even have one yet. >.<
For those wondering, here in the Philippines we have 2 kinds of tournaments: Sanctioned and Open. Sanctioned tournaments are those Konami-ranked tournaments that only allows Asia-legal cards in it. However, we also have a good number of players that only play TCG cards and that is why the Open tournaments are held where both OCG and TCG cards are allowed. Annually, an Open Championship is held and this usually is attended by lots of players coz of the bigger prize pool, chance to sell cards, and have good trades.
It's the 3rd Open Championship now and looking back to the previous ones...
2009 = 1st: Christian Discipulo with Anti-Meta
2010 = 1st: Alvin Lim with Hero Metabeat
I dont have a list for the 2009 deck (EDIT: Got a link to it now) but it is almost the same as the 2010 deck but without the Heroes. Why anti-meta? Open tournaments are the only events where anti-meta cards such as Raioh, DCK, and Fossil Dyna are allowed and most PH players are not accustomed to playing against them. So should we expect another Anti-Meta-ish deck to win once again on Saturday?

I guess you can now guess why I called this chopseuy. Its a deck made by mixing together Plant, Lightlord, Chaos, and Dhero, just like how you make mixed vegetables: just throw everything in and hope it tastes good! For me, I made this just so I can use all the "draw" cards available!
Its great when...
= you draw Solar Recharges and a LS

What can I say... Pls dont even attempt to try this deck out competitively, unless you want your friends have fun laughing about what you drew with your 1st six cards. :))

Wslasher's Chaos Samurai
Back then...
Six Samurai dominated the meta since the release of STOR and successfully evaded being hammered by the March 2011 banlist. Lots of players shifted to playing the deck simply because of the dreaded "1st-turn-Shien + lots of backrow".
Now...
Six Samurai is quickly losing popularity though it is expected since it is the deck most hit by the new banlist. The consistency of having a 1st-turn-Shien and having the ability to safely set multiple backrows is now stripped away from the 6Sam players by having the main culprits - LSS Shien and Shien's Smoke Signal - getting limited and Heavy Storm now returning.
The 2011 PH Champion William "Wslasher" Sy is known as a die-hard fan of the archetype ever since the STON days. He piloted Sam in almost all the tournaments he played and looks like he's not stopping even though the deck is now considered less than Tier 1.
He won pod 2 of the ranking tournament last Saturday with his updated Six Samurai deck and agreed to share it here in my blog.
Comparing this new Sam build with the post-Sep Sams, we can see a lot of changes...
1. From a conservative 12-14 monster lineup, it is now 21.
Generically, we can call this deck as Chaos Sams. Aggression is now the key tactic of deck. Bringing out big beaters such as Zanji and Irou to take out both f/u and f/d monsters with Enishi bouncing potential synchro summons of the opponent. Lots of LV4 monsters give easy access to Rank 4 Xyz.
2. Ascetism of the Six Samurai x3
Its not like the use of Ascetism is new; however, from being used to simply summon Shien, it is now also used
as a way to simply swarm your opponent out of their LP and as a way to bring out Zanji with Kizan and Irou with Kageki or Enishi or vice-versa to provide a sort of "toolbox" for the deck.
3. Almost no traps and "Backs to the Wall (Ultimate Last Stand)"
The last time I played with him he used Double-Edge Sword Tech in order to synchro summon or to bring out more LV4s to attack and to Xyz rank 4s. The build he won with uses Backs to the Wall as new tech. It is a card that, at the cost of reducing your LP until 100, lets you summon Six samurai monsters as much as possible from your graveyard provided you do not summon 2 monsters of the same name. Frankly, I see it as a do-or-die card. Activate it, do your stuff; if you fail to kill your opponent, you pretty much lost the game.
In fairness to the card though, if gives you a lot of options and moves to make almost like Return from the Different Dimension. You can return monsters to synchro, Xyz, direct attack with, destroy cards, or just for the sake of summoning back your Shien and his lackeys. Remember, your monsters dont leave the field at the end phase unlike RftDD and DEST.
Pros:
= swarming and destructive power is incredibly high (esp. against f/d monsters, T_T my Rykos)
= has easy access to both Shien and Naturia Beast although not the same as the past format.
= Rank 4 Xyzs are easy to make. I can even see No.16 Shock Ruler being summoned by this deck.
= Enishi is trouble if the GY is loaded with Sams
= Can easily side into Dimensional Sams against other GY decks.
Cons:
= Simple 1800 and 2100 atk monsters are relatively easy to deal with.
= Creates tempo with swarms. No swarm = no pressure on opponent
= Shien wouldn't make that much of a threat if it doesn't protect powerful traps.
= No self-protection at all besides the lone Book and 2x Warnings
I dont even like the Warnings in this build. BTH is probably much better. Activating Backs to the Wall then drawing Warning next turn (if you get another turn) spells game over.
It is still the start of the format and we can't safely say that Six Samurai wont be much of a threat in the upcoming months. This attack-oriented side of Samurai is the polar opposite of what Six Samurai decks are about last format. With more tests with it by more ppl, we might see the the deck back again in top tables.
Next up! My deck. lol. I talked about how anxious I am to use Dhero and Junk Doppel tricks although here I wrote I'm currently playing Chaos Lightlord. One word can describe my deck: chopseuy! lol
Yum! ^^
Im getting hungry. Time to eat!
