Rocket Arrow on the Knee

"Took an arrow on the knee"

Have you seen this line over and over again in the net world? This just means that in the past you used to do "something" then another thing happened that you were not able to do "something" again.

"I used to be an adventurer like you, then I took an arrow in the knee."
-do you know where this net-famous line come from? xD

Well, I didn't post this because I want to teach English, dont worry. On the new cards in Galactic Overload, there's a new monster that is POWERFUL... but USELESS!... and it is Rocket Arrow!

Roaring Express Train Rocket Arrow
EARTH/Machine/Effect
5000/0

Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Must be Special Summoned (from your hand) by controlling no cards, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. You cannot conduct your Battle Phase the turn this card is Special Summoned. While this card is face-up on the field, you cannot activate or Set cards. During each of your Standby Phases, send all cards in your hand to the Graveyard or destroy this card.

In the anime, Anna used this card to summon her Rank 10 Xyz monster and that is ONE way to use this card since it cannot attack and you cannot use other cards as long as this is faceup. PLUS, it even has a drawback that you need to dump you hand when you want this card to stay next turn. Totally worthless crap, right?

Unless you want to special summon this card then use as tribute for a Monarch or something...

Wait...

!!!

Great Maju Garzett
DARK/Fiend/Effect
0/0

The ATK of this card becomes twice the original ATK of 1 monster that you Tributed for the Tribute Summon of this card.

This card only needs 1 monster for a tribute right.... What better monster to sack than Rocket Arrow~~~!!

Who wants a 10000ATK Great Maju Garzett to punch through a 2000ATK Venus? Trololol.

I think I want to start trolling in DN using this idea. Haha, Great Maju Garzett can be searched by Sangan. :))
If you see someone using this combo, that's gotta be me or one of my friends, haha

Credits to Bahamut for the title since I think I remember reading it in one of his comments in another blog.

Merry Christmas from me and Konami!

It's Christmas eve and I want to greet all of you a merry christmas! Hope all of us are eating good food this holiday! :D And dont forget the gifts especially cards and cash to buy more cards! xD

Konami also is giving its players a Christmas present! Here's pic that Wslasher shared in our forum about a latest update about the coming Gold Series 2012.

According the Wslasher, this is taken from "Sho Phoenix"'s link... (dont know about that)
But it is a high-quality image and the spoilers aint that "unbelievable" too...

Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning
D.D. Crow
Jowgen the Spiritualist
Armageddon Knight
Stardust Dragon
Wind-Up Zenmaines
Card Trooper
Treeborn Frog
Infernity Archfiend
Granmarg the Rock Monarch

Pot of Duality
Necrovalley
Creature Swap
One for One
{Reinforcement of the Army}?

Dark Bribe
Dimensional Prison
Starlight Road
Solemn Warning
Fiendish Chain

The red font cards most likely are the Normal Rare cards of the set.

Thank you Konami if ever this is a true list! :D

Update for my last post: New videos up!

In my last post I said that Wslasher had recorded videos of the final matches but it wasn't uploaded yet when I posted the tournament report.

Here's a link to the whole tournament report for the Year-end Showdown

He's done with the editing and uploading so here are the other videos missing...

Edsel Gozon (Inzecters) vs. Christian Discipulo (Graveyard BF)
Finals - Game3

I saw lots of misplays on my part in this video... one is I used MST on his f/d card even though I know (from Dustshoot) that is probably his own MST. Another is my decision to destroy my own Centipede just to trigger Damsel's effect to summon another Centipede from deck. I should have just destroyed my f/d Torrential since it is useless at the moment and since I know he can't outswarm me. >_< Need more practice and need to learn to not get distracted easily by spectators.

Edsel Gozon (Inzecters) vs. Alvin Lim (TG Agent)
Overall Final - Game1

omg, I can't believe my misplays here were so many!!! >_< I'm ashamed.. The first bad move was when I used Armaknight just to dump a Damsel then CoTH for it. Should have realized the 1st trap was a REAL trap. Luckily I had another Damsel to pop. Then the last misplay was when I failed to OTK him. Should really have calculated everything before attacking... sigh..

Edsel Gozon (Inzecters) vs. Alvin Lim (TG Agent)
Overall Final - Game2

Edsel Gozon (Inzecters) vs. Alvin Lim (TG Agent)
Overall Final - Game3

(cant embed the video for some reason so here's a link to it...

Drew 2x Heart of Clears in this game... Him drawing Storm just sealed my loss too. Cant do anything there.

So all in all, the cards that were "hard" to use and wasn't helpful all the time were:
= Torrential Tribute
= Heart of Clear Water
= Book of Moon
= Armageddon Knight (a bit)

With this, I may have space in the deck to put in new cards to try such as PWWB/Raigeki Break, etc.
Also, I need to fix this so the deck is Wind-up Inzecters... not just Inzecters. Need to practice hard for Asia 2012. >_<

That concludes the update. Thanks for reading!

Year-end Showdown! Asia-Format 12/17/11

Before the tournament report, I would like to congratulate Rey Vincent Lim for getting 2nd Place at the 2011 Top Shop Championships held yesterday! Congrats to you and the 2011 Philippine Team!

=======================================================
Last Saturday, the official shop decided to hold a Year-end tournament since that Saturday (12/17) is probably the last day of the year where players would flock the official store since next Saturday is already 12/24 and most would be busy preparing for Christmas celebration.

It was also decided that the format would be the same as the Konami Ranking tournaments. Another note is that there would be two tournaments. One will start at noon with 32 players... the other will start after the 1st finishes with 16 or 32 players depending on registration. That means there will be two winners that day. The two winners will battle for an additional prize donated by the head judge.

Pod1: Asia-Format, Single Eliminations
Participants: 32 (5 rounds)
Deck Used: Wind-Up Inzecters

Round1: vs. Tony (Karakuri) 0-x-x
G1 = Dumped his hand.
G2 = Drew 2x Rats, 2x Damsels, and 2x Chain Disappearance. omg, was I stacked? Was able to use Chain Disappearance on his Male-tuner but got beat-downed coz I wasn't able to set up a Hornet.
G3 = Drew 2x Rats again wtf with a Damsel and Hornet. Set Chain Disappearance and a CotH. Then, I got wiped by Heavy Storm and summoned the 1700 Karakuri and he set 3 cards: Solemn Warning, BTH, and Solemn Judgment. Cant do anything against those. >_<

Result: So I scrubbed the first tournament... lol, 1st round dropout. Wslasher also dropped early so went to go have lunch. We played abit and my draws always had 2x Rat no matter how I shuffle!!! Crazy luck today with Wind-Ups so I decided to play the next tournament with just Inzecters.

BTW, here's a video (courtesy of Wslasher) of the finals in the 1st tournament.

Alvin Lim (TG Agent) vs. Jag Tan (Wind-up Inzecter)
Finals - Game1

Alvin Lim (TG Agent) vs. Jag Tan (Wind-up Inzecter)
Finals - Game2

Congratulations to Alvin Lim with TG Agents for winning the 1st tournament!

1st Place: Alvin Lim (TG Agent)
2nd Place: Jag Tan (Wind-Up Inzecter)
==============================================================
Let's move on to the next tournament!

Pod2: Asia-Format, Single Eliminations
Participants: 16 (4 rounds)
Deck Used: Inzecters

Round1: vs. Agent Angel  0-x-0
G1 = OTK'd him with a Damsel with Heart of Clear, Hornet, and Gigamantis.
G2 = Sided in Dimensional Fissures but didnt draw them. One Inzecter got Veiler'd, I used CotH for another one but it got negated by Orange Light, lol. Negate much? He had Cyber Dragons and Venus to beat me down.
G3 = No Fissures again =( . Again same plays, he used Veiler and Orange Light against my monsters. Ahead in card advantage, I was able to pull off another Inzecter next turn to take care of his Jupiter and Kristya.

Round2: vs. Cedric (Agent Angel) 0-0-
G1 = Good draws and no Orange Light easily lead to OTK.
G2 = He had an Earth and a f/d card. Drew Heavy Storm, Dim Fissure, Damsel, Foolish Burial, Trap Dustshoot, and Solemn Judgment!!! God draw? The Dim Fissure left his Orange Light and Hyperion in hand dead.

Round3: vs. Rampy (Agent Angel) x-0-0
G1 = He drew godly and OTK'd me with Holy Wyvern, 2 Hyperions and a BLS.
G2 = He drew Holy Wyvern along his first 6 cards so we went ahead to Game 3. Yey.
G3 = Again he made the same move as G1. 1st turn he made Venus+Gantetsu, set a card, ended. I set Hornet, Torrential, and CoTH. His turn he summoned Breaker and I used Torrential. Cant remember what happened next but I know I was able to OTK him using Damsels and the CotH I set earlier.

Finals: vs. Chan (Graveyard Black Feather) 0-x-0

Edsel Gozon (Inzecters) vs. Christian Discipulo (Graveyard BF)
Finals - Game1

Edsel Gozon (Inzecters) vs. Christian Discipulo (Graveyard BF)
Finals - Game2 part 1

Edsel Gozon (Inzecters) vs. Christian Discipulo (Graveyard BF)
Finals - Game2 part2

Wslasher hasn't uploaded game 3 yet due to technical problems.

G3 = Drew godly again! I had Centipede, Hornet, Dim Fissure, Torrential, Solemn Judg, and Trap Dustshoot! Pitted all of those on my field and his turn I saw his hand I knew most his cards were dead against Dim Fissure so it was control from there. He top drew Duality but it showed him Veiler, Crow, and Armageddon Knight. Haha, fail xD

Result: 1st Place! I won a couple of packs full on "noteworthy" cards except Hornet. fail. Also noticed that before the finals, everyone I fought was using Agents!!! Wew.

1st Place: *ME*  (Inzecter)
2nd Place: Chan Discipulo (Graveyard BF)

But it doesn't end there! Alvin Lim and I will duel it out too!

Extra Round: vs. Alvin Lim (TG Agent) x-0-x
I think Wslasher recorded the duel on video. I cant remember that much except the time I won even though I misplayed and left him 300 LP. Luckily he wasn't able to draw a counter attack. Last thing I remember was when I lost to his OTK of Android, Brili-ant, Gantetsu, and BLS.

So that's it! Still wasn't able to beat Alvin Lim again. >_< Will try again next time, haha, most probably it will be next year. Maybe I could make it one of my new year resolutions? haha.

Noticed that Torrential tribute doesn't mix well with Inzecters. Was that only today or do most ppl think so too? Will fix up the Wind-Up Inzecter build, hopefully next week I wont have to draw 2x Rats anymore.

Thanks for reading!

Congrats Team Philippines! Photos up!

Just got back home from a big year-end tournament and was planning to make a tournament report about it; but, that can wait till tomorrow because there is bigger news to tell!

Congratulations to
Rey Vincent Lim (left), Karlo Bonillo (mid), and Jomer Flores (right)
for winning the 2011 Asia Plus Team Tournament!

2011 Asia+ Champion: Philippines

Btw, I was not at the event and these photos are courtesy of Mr. Sherjack Siao (our official shop owner, top left) who was uploading photos while in the tournament. Here are some more photos from him...

2011 Asia+ Tournament Participants
Here's a roster of all the participants in the tournament. Popular names are Malaysia's Sung Lee and Singapore's William Oh and Daniel Ang. There's no argument that it was a tournament full of pro players.

Philippines' Bracket

So the tournament system used by Konami for this year's tournament is the same as last year's. There's lots of complaints back in 2010 about this system but it looks like this will be the permanent system for Asia Plus Tournaments in the future too.

Tournament Rules and Game Mode
Score Computations
Trump Card Mechanics
Here's a pic of the tournament rules and game mode of the previous 2010 Asia Plus Tournament. More or less, the rules for this year will be the same as last year's.

The tournament is participated by 8 teams and will be divided into two divisions by drawing lots. Now, each division will have a round robin tournament and the top team of each division will face off in the championships. This year, Philippines is in the same division as Singapore, Thailand, and Taiwan.

Round1: vs. Singapore!
Round 1 is against Team Singapore! They are one of the crowd favorites in winning the tournament. However, Philippines got to win in a score of 3-0!
PH Leader: 2-1 (score gained = 1pt)
PH Member A: 2-1 (score gained = 1 pt)
PH Member B: 2-1 (score gained = 1 pt)
Team Total Score: 3 pts!

Round2: vs. Thailand
With a good start from last round, the next is against Thailand. Thailand uses their Trump Card to increase their score gain and they won 1-2!
PH Leader: 2-1 (score gained = 1pt)
PH Member A: 1-2 (score gained = 0 pt)
PH Member B: 1-2 (score gained = 0 pt)
Team Total Score: 4 pts!

Round3: vs. Taiwan!
Critical round! Philippines and Taiwan battle it out to determine which team will face against Malaysia in the championships! Taiwan is undefeated and is leading in the division but Philippines uses their Trump Card to try and steal the top spot! Philippines won and benefited greatly from their Trump Card!
PH Leader: 2-1 (score gained = 1pt x 1.25 = 1.25 pts)
PH Member A: 1-2 (score gained = 0 pt x 1.25 = 0 pt)
PH Member B: 2-0 (score gained = 2 pts x 1.25 = 2.50 pts!)
Team Total Score: 7.75 pts!

Philippines (7.75 pts) has won in their division and is off to face against Malaysia (13.75 pts!!!) in the Championships!

Championships: Malaysia vs Philippines
Dont have details on results on each matchup but overall the Philippines won the 2011 Asia Plus Team Tournament! Congratulations again!

Today (Sunday), the 2011 Top Shop Tournament will be held at about 4:00pm. The Philippine representative is Rey Vincent Lim also and let's hope he can also take home the championships!

GS2012 Full List?

Here's an unconfirmed list of the coming GS2012 in January. Got this from a post at the official PH yugioh forum: http://yugiohphil.forummotion.com/t4142p120-ocg-gold-series-2012

GS04-JP006 D.D.Crow
GS04-JP007 Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner
GS04-JP008 Dragonic Knight (normal rare)
GS04-JP009 Stardust Dragon
GS04-JP010 Mainspring Mine Zenmaine (normal rare)

GS04-JP017 Raigeki Break
GS04-JP018 Secret Barrel
GS04-JP019 Dimensional Prison

Really? BLS and Pot are just mere commons? If this is true, I can only assume one of them will likely get hit this March. Pot maybe goes to 1 or 2? BLS banned again? I doubt BLS will be banned again though.

Dragonic Knight will be the most hated Gold Series Normal Rare card of all time, LOL.
I'm imagining the knight with a troll face, :))

T-Report: Local Open 12/11/11

Got time to play at a local shop at Marketplace Mall, Mandaluyong City.
Simple 12-man tournament with a 4-round Swiss with Top 4 cut.

Open tournament. All cards are legal.

Deck Used: Wind-Up Inzecter (Asia-format)

Round1: vs. Anti-meta 0-x-0
G1 = Zenmai loop burned his hand.
G2 = Banisher of the Radiance on his field locked me out of any of my monster effects. Tried to summon Revise Dragon but died to BTH. He showed me that he also had Warning and Solemn Judgment set. wew
G3 = Snowman Eater (sided) survived and started Zenmai loop as I had Royal Decree up. Dumped his hand and summoned Leviair to summon an Inzecter.
Standings: 1-0

Round2: vs. Lightlord 0-0-
G1 = He went 1st and went CotLB... milled 1 Wulf... summoned Lumina + Garoth and ended. Milled Gardnas. Wow. I set Hunter, Torrential and Solemn. He summoned Lyla and I use Torrential. My turn I did Damsel combo to destroy my Solemn (he had no field), proceed to do Zenmai loop and dumped his imbal hand cards: Dark Hole, BLS, Monster Reincarnation. He wasn't able to top deck a JD. haha
G2 = He went 1st and summoned a Lyla. I activate Foolish Burial then Dimensional Fissure, did Damsel combo and proceeded to do Zenmai loop. Half his hand went to RFG. gg
Standing: 2-0

Round3: vs. Agent Herald x-0-x
G1 = 1st turn Perfect Herald. troolll
G2 = He got Herald again in def. Managed to set a Damsel and it survived until my next turn. Summoned Centipede and he didn't got enough Fairies in hand to negate all of my monster effects.
G3 = 1st turn Perfect Herald with Gantetsu. trollll.
Standing: 2-1

Round4: vs. Arrive Gladiator Beasts 0-0-
G1 = Herak 1st turn. Noticing everyone is summoning their Boss monsters in 1st turn except me. lol. Lucky me he didn't have enough negaters for all my monster effects and he didnt have any backrow. He only had 1 Veiler in hand.
G2 = Herak again... but this time he got something set.... I use MST on it to reveal Waboku. I proceeded to do Damsel combo + Zenmai loop. gg
Standing: 3-1

Since I only lost to the only 4-0 guy, I went into Final 4.

Top 4: vs. Merix (Tengu Junk Doppel) x-0-0
G1 = Summoned Hunter and used Instant Fusion; he chained Maxx C. I hate Junk Doppel decks when I'm using this deck coz they can main Veilers and Maxx Cs. Since Zenmai loop is senseless against Maxx C, I stopped, he farmed his advantage from there.
G2 = Got Damsel, Hornet, DFissure, BTH, MST, and Solemn (from Duality). Perfect hand and controlled from there.
G3 = He set a card, I used Damsel to destroy it and it was Sangan. He fetched Veiler. Proceeded to summon Centipede and attacked. Made a Zenmaighty to lure out the inevitable Veiler. Few turns passed and he got to flip Ryko but didnt destroy my DFissure. Then he got his Kycoo to remove both my only Hornets in GY. Stalled with a set Damsel (1800 DEF) and Chain Disappearance to take care of Dandy and Trooper. From there I got to draw Gigamantis and used that to equip Damsel to attack Kycoo. Won from there.

Funny the Agent Herald user lost in his Top 4 match. Again, Curse of a Perfect Swiss ate another soul. :))

Finals: vs. Miko (Offering Machina Gadget) 0-0-
G1 = He set 1 backrow. I had a possible Damsel into Zenmai loop but I also had Solemn and BTH in hand. So I just set Hunter and set BTH and Solemn. He summons Cydra and a Gearframe and attacked. My turn I went ahead to do the Damsel + Zenmai cheat. ^^
G2 = He set 2 backrow cards only. I set Greenkappa. He summons Cydra again and a Gadget and attacked. I destroyed his set Warning and Torrential. Those two cards were important since he didn't have counters to my combo next turn. My turn his field and hand were all destroyed. Cheat again, haha. Miko hates me now. Haha.

Final Result: 1st place! Nice! 1st actual tournament using my Wind-up Inzecters and it was great. I only hand the chance to play this deck in Dueling Network before and I dont trust how I draw cards there.

My build is Asia-format-friendly but it still won against decks with promo cards. Of course, one consideration is that the matchups were not that hard except for the Junk Doppel guy. All Agent decks except the Herald lost in Swiss.

Noticed something different? Card names on this tournament report are colored the same way as the cards themselves (Monster, Spell, Trap, Xyz/Synchro, Fusion). Took this idea from how LFN makes his t-reports. They're cool imo. What do you think? Should I use colors or not?

====================================================

Gold Series 2012 roster is sooooooooooooo good.
Although personally I dont like Duality to get reprinted, but that is inevitable. Hopefully it and BLS don't become commons (not NR) because that would likely be a sign of them getting hit hard by the March bans (just like what happened with CCV).

*Woot! Zenmaines and Armageddon Knight! Zenmaines is a nice addition to the Asia-format family! Hooray also since I wont need to borrow my friend's Armageddon Knight anymore. Yeah!

Thanks for reading!

Best cards of 2011

Here's my list of 10 cards that imo defined the TCG meta of 2011. This is a response to PJ Tierney's post here:
http://theirishduelist.blogspot.com/2011/12/best-cards-of-2011.html#more

Best TCG cards of 2011:

1. Tour Guide of the Underworld
Remember when detaching a Xyz material in TCG activated the effects of monsters such as Sangan? Tour Guide soared into the three-digit price because of this broken ruling by Kevin Tewart.

2. Reborn Tengu
Tour Guide's predecessor. TCG-land was the happiest place to play Plant decks.

3. T.G. Hyper Librarian
Although late to arrive in the TCG, clearly one of the defining cards of this year earning a R1 status.

4. Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En
Shi En was the cause of the infamous "dice roll matchup." Locking down the opponent with the multiple Solemn Warnings set.

5. Master Hyperion

Dark Armed Dragon was put to Limited for a good reason. Hyperion, the "Light Armed Dragon," goes down out of nowhere to OTK you when up against Agents.

6. T.G. Warwolf
TG monsters wouldn't be that successful without this card. DARK, spammable, and a recruiter? This is why TG is splashable to almost any deck

7. Leviair the Sea Dragon

Another card that is now a staple in Extra decks. Banished cards go back because of this.

8. Rescue Rabbit
9. Evolzar Laggia
10. Evolzar Dolkka

The most recent addition to the TCG meta. Rabbit = 1-card-walking-Solemn-Judgment OR 1-card-walking-double-Divine-Wraths

How about you? What's your own list of best 2011 cards? ^^

Inzecter Wind-Up

5 new cards from ORCS are changing the current meta. Well, not so much as a change since TGAA, Offering Gadgets, Rabbit Ragia, etc. are still top decks but these 3-5 cards took another spot at the top tables.

Let's start with a new archetype - Inzecter!

Inzecter Hornet
DARK/Insect/Effect
500/200
Once per turn: You can equip 1 "Inzecter" monster in your hand or Graveyard to this card. While this card is equipped to a monster, increase the equipped monster's Level by 3, and ATK and DEF by this card's ATK and DEF, respectively. You can send this Equip Card to the Graveyard to target 1 card on the field; destroy it.

This is the deck's lifeblood monster since it is by far the only Inzector card that can unequip itself at will. This ability combos with the next Inzecters.

Inzecter Damsel
DARK/Insect/Effect
1000/1800
Once per turn: You can equip 1 "Inzecter" monster in your hand or Graveyard to this card. If an Equip Card equipped to this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 "Inzecter" monster (from your Deck), except "Inzecter Dragonfly". While this card is equipped to a monster, increase the equipped monster's Level by 3.

This card if equipped with Hornet generates plusses of its combo. Unequip Hornet to destroy a card then summon another Inzecter from the deck. Which Inzecter to summon? This one...

Inzecter Centipede
DARK/Insect/Effect
1600/1200
Once per turn: You can equip 1 "Inzecter" monster in your hand or Graveyard to this card. If an Equip Card equipped to this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can add 1 "Inzecter" monster from your Deck to your hand. While this card is equipped to a monster, increase the equipped monster's Level by 3.

If comboed with Damsel, you can destroy another card using Hornet then add another Inzecter from deck to hand!

See the advantage that you can gain with just one successful combo of Damsel? Let's make an example...

Opponent goes first and sets 2 cards... Ryko and Bottomless Trap Hole.
You summon Damsel (-1), activate its effect to equip Hornet from hand (-1).
Activate Hornet's effect. Destroy backrow of opponent (+1).
Activate Damsel's effect. Special summon Centipede from deck (+1) equip it with Hornet.
Activate Hornet's effect. Destroy set monster (+1).
Activate Centipede's effect. Add Damsel from deck to hand (+1).
Repeat process next turn.

See the total advantage you gained with a successful Damsel combo? You gained +2! What if that Hornet you used was already at the graveyard beforehand? You would have gained a +3 instead!

This combo also leaves you with 2 LV3 monsters at your disposal (Damsel and Centipede). You can use them to attack and wait or Xyz into Rank 3s such as Revise, Leviair (another great card that combos with this deck), Acid Golem, OR another new card from the same box ORCS...

Wind-Up Zenmaighty
WATER/Machine/Xyz/Effect
1500/1500
2 Level 3 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Special Summon 1 "Wind-Up" monster (from your hand or Deck). When a face-up "Wind-Up" monster you control is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target that monster; add it to your hand.

Okayyy... summon a Wind-Up... and what would that be?

Wind-Up Hunter
DARK/Beast-Warrior/Effect
1600/500
You can Tribute 1 face-up "Wind-Up" monster, except "Wind-Up Hunter"; send 1 random card from your opponent's hand to the Graveyard. This effect can only be used once while this card is face-up on the field.

This is a card from PHSW that you can use to further the advantage by tributing Zenmaighty and send 1 card from opponent's hand to GY. "Send" does not trigger Dark World effects so no retaliation from Grapha and friends.

But this monster is not the only monster you can summon by Wind-Up Zenmaighty. Behold another new card from ORCS which I consider as the Debris Dragon of Xyz summoning.

Wind-Up Rat
EARTH/Beast/Effect
600/600
During your Main Phase: You can target 1 "Wind-Up" monster in your Graveyard; change this card in face-up Defense Position and Special Summon that target in face-up Defense Position. This effect can only be used once while this card is face-up on the field.

Summon this with Zenmaighty and if you have Wind-up Hunter in your GY you can summon it. Use Hunter to tribute Zenmaighty to destroy 1 hand card. Done? Not yet because you are now left with 2 LV3 monsters again! Another Zenmaighty! See the pattern?

This means that along with the field destruction from the Inzecters (+2-3) you have also destroyed 3 hand cards (+3) of your opponent (considering you have 3 Zenmaightys). A grand total of +6 advantage with only using 1 card (Damsel)! So imba!

You can also do the Zenmaighty combo if you go first to have your opponent start play with only 3 cards.
Of course, that number can still be reduced with the help of Monster Reborn and Pot of Avarice. XD
Dont forget also that all the Inzecters and Hunter are DARK monsters so DARK-supports such as Allure of Darkness and Dark Armed are also helpful.

What's that? Effect Veiler can shut this deck up? Yeah, of course it can. It can also stop Venus, Hyperion, Junk Synchron, Debris Dragon, Rabbit, Gearframe, Trishula, Gadgets, and a whole lot of monsters. But did that stop these decks from getting into the top tables? lol.

That's it for my new deck! ^^ Have fun playing with it too.

Back after a month of no blogs!

First of all, my sincerest apologies to everyone visiting my blog and finding no updates.
It has been more than a month since my last post and that was because of me taking care of things required for my new job and professional license (I'm an aeronautical engineer now! Yey!). But  I'm now used to my new schedule and I can now play Yugioh again so you can expect some new things here regularly.

So... what happened to Yugioh in the past month?

1.  The Philippine qualifier for Asia Plus Team Tournament was held and my team scrubbed it.

2.  The Philippine qualifier for Top Shop Tournament (Store Championships) was held and I only got so far as Top 8. Lost to Rabbit Ragia.

3   ORCS is released along with a new DARK Tier1 deck... Inzecters!

4.  A new hand destruction deck is formed due to the new Wind-up Zenmaighty and Wind-up Rat.

5.  SD22 full list is out! Lyla and CotLB is reprinted. I hear most ppl will only buy this for these two cards. No clear deck yet for the new dragons since Light Pulsar Dragon's effect was clarified.

Soooo many new things! I'll write about each of these at my next posts.

Thanks for reading! ^^

GS04-JPXXX BLS - EOTB???

http://blog.livedoor.jp/hanewata/

Here's the site. Use Google Chrome/Translate.

It is also another UNCONFIRMED update though.
No official word from Konami yet.
So is it just another speculation of some guy?

If its true, most will be happy about the reprint. Too bad for those who bought their JP BLS here for $100.
Konami trolls again if this is true.

Happy Halloween!

Happy halloween everyone!

There've been no tournament last Sunday due to most people preparing to go to the provinces to visit cemeteries. However, the Saturday tournaments still went on and gave 3 more invites for the Store Championships. There's a total of 13 persons with invites now. lol, 13? What a coincidence.

Going back to the halloween topic.

Im thinking of what card can represent the season while also being a good card in the meta.
I came up with... Spirit reaper!

So why Spirit reaper? Here's a few points:
(how did this post become a card review? lol)

Useful against the Agent matchup somewhat when they got Kristya down. Most likely they wont have an out to it in their main deck.

A cool LV3 monster that can survive on its own. Its very useful when bringing out Trishula, Brionac, Leviair, or even Acid Golem.

Ryko > destroy monster > summon Reaper > direct attack.
I so like this combo in the early game. BTH usually just sits. Veiler cant do anything to it unless they use it on Ryko. lol. bad move.

Also, the Reaper is one of the favorite mascots of Halloween! There's lots of version of him. The common black robe + Scream mask. The grotesque Shinigami of Death Note. The characters in Bleach. And also a funny Reaper with big hands in Soul Eater!

I guess, that sums up this post. Thanks for reading and enjoy your vacation!

10000 Views!

Wow!

10000-view milestone in 3 months! Thanks to everyone who have been reading the blog especially to my fellow Filipino duelists!

Hoping the blog can reach the next 100000 milestone! (How many years would it take? lol)
People here have been talking about putting up duel videos again and passing winning decklists to Shriek's blog. I can accomodate and post here but I think the best is to post the decklists on Shriek while the videos go here. Btw, William will be the one doing vids. I'll just leech it from him when he's done, xD

Here's a few sample videos made by him. (more at his YouTube channel here)

Plenty of lulz in this vid.

Here's a vid of me dueling (im the psychic/plant player)

Again, thanks to everyone and keep on reading! ^^

Updates: Black Luster and Light Pulsar

Nope, dont be mislead but BLS is not revamped or anything BUT...

At last, I got my own Asia Black Luster Soldier!

And its in MINT condition! Yeah

Thanks to my friend Roy for scouting the card and sharing the costs with me. I can now make decks with the card without worrying whether or not I can borrow someone's BLS before a tournament. lol

So onto a real update!

Light Pulsar Dragon's translations were said to be off before. The "If... you can..." trigger was said to be translated incorrectly and in reality it is a "When... you can...".

This update means that Light Pulsar now actually misses its timing when it is...
  • Tributed
  • Used a synchro material
  • Destroyed in the middle of a chain
And also... the FTK/OTK involving Light Pulsar Dragon and Cannon Soldier is now a bust.

However, this is also unconfirmed. Nothing is yet.

EDIT: The revamp is now official!

This image shows that the text trigger really is a

"When... you can..."

and not a...

"If... you can..."

Thus, goodbye Light Pulsar FTK!

Tengu Junk Doppel: 9-round tournament is tiring but fun!

Sorry, its not actually a 9-round Swiss tournament but a 8-player Round Robin tournament with a cut to Top 4.

Yesterday I joined a tournament organized by fellow players which was planned to give away a PSP if attendance reached 30 players. However, only 16 persons showed up (although many were invited and agreed to come) so it was decided that the cash pool collected from the entrance fees would be the prize.

Swiss format should have been used however we only had 16 players. Eliminations would have been too short. So they split the players into 2 blocks and held a round robin point system. The 4 players from both blocks with the highest points will get to play into the Top 4.

Point system is as such:
2-0 = 3 points
2-1 = 2 points
1-2 = 1 point
0-2 = 0 point

Open format is applied for card pool. Therefore, promos and TCG exclusives are allowed.

Deck used: Tengu Junk Doppel
Block: B (so unlucky as this block includes both Philippine Champions: Alvin Lim and William Sy)

Round1: vs. Alvin Lim (Debris Junk Doppel)
G1 = Was able to make Lib+Formula earlier than him. I was able to take game with Brionac to return his Catastor and DAD with my BLS killing two Doppel tokens.
G2 = He set a monster. Had cards to make Quasar but I set my Bulb first coz I can use Foolish Burial for Spore so that if he does have Crow when I target Spore with Junk Synchron I can still make the Lib+Formula. He flipped Ryko, Bulb get destroyed, he summoned Kycoo and banished bulb! My turn I tried to make the combo but he has Crow for Spore! Despair scoop.
G3 = Was able to make Lib+Drill. He made a Trishula and removed Doppel in GY. Drill took back a useless Junk Synchron but didn't have any nontuner in GY. My hand had DAD and BLS but was lacking 1 DARK for DAD and 1 LIGHT for BLS, lol. I misplayed when I didnt run over his Raioh with Drill Warrior. He was able to use that as nontuner to take the game.
Result = 0-x-x
Total Score = 1 point

Round2: vs. Rampy (Agent Angel)
G1 = He took Soul Release with Duality in his 1st turn and was able to play around it.
G2 = Stopped 2 Venuses in consecutive turns with 2 Maxx Cs. But Banisher sealed my off.
G3 = Another misplay! T_T He had Venus, Banisher, and a set card while I had BLS and Veiler in hand. BLS was successfully summoned but I attacked and rammed into Mirror Force. Too greedy as I thought I can kill two cards since I dont need to worry about Honest coz of Banisher. Forgot about MF.
Result = 0-x-x
Total Score = 2 points

Round3: vs. Debris Junk Doppel
G1 = He used Foolish+Debris to make Stardust Dragon on his 1st turn. I did Quasar+Drill on mine.
G2 = He had 1 card in hand and 4 tokens with Bulb in GY. Underestimated his hand card so I went all out with Scrap Dragon and BLS to wipe his tokens out. His turn he used Dark Hole. lol wasted 1 point
G3 = Maxx "C" and Crow killed his combos.
Result = 0-x-0
Total Score = 4 points

Round4: vs. Gusta
G1 = Lonefire+Reborn into Trish removed his cards.
G2 = Again, Trishula wrecked havoc.
Result = 0-0-
Total Score = 7 points

Round5: vs. William Sy (Six Samurai)
G1 = He had Samurais and 2 sets. MST'd one backrow and baited out his Divine Warning with Drill Warrior. Then, I made Lib+Formula into Trishula and win.
G2 = Misplay again. sigh. Should have killed his Kageki instead of Kizan. I was afraid of Trish/Brionac even though I had BTH and Veiler in hand. He made Shien + Dimensional Fissure and I was sealed.
G3 = Godly draw. lol. He made Shien + a samurai and 2 backrows. I MST, he negated. I used Heavy Storm. He had Double-Edge and Warning where my previous MST targeted the latter. After that, I used Dark Hole! Haha, sorry William.
Result = 0-x-0
Total Score = 9 points

Round6: vs. Dark World
G1 = He set a card. I made Lonefire+Reborn into Trishula and removed his f/d Sangan and his DW Scarr in hand. His turn he activated his field and set a monster. My turn made Lib+Formula+Drill.
G2 = It was late and he needed to go so he gave me the win. Lucky!
Result = 0-0-
Total Score = 12 points!

Round7: vs. Junely (Machina Gadget)
G1 = Got my worst hand of Quickdraw, Doppel, Bulb, Veiler, and another card. Why worst hand? Coz I still cant find space in my extra deck for Nitro Warrior. He was first and took BTH from Duality. I used Veiler on his Gearframe. I set bulb. He made Merrowgeist. Tried to summon Gorz next turn but he had Warning. scoop.
G2 and G3 = Again the place we were playing at was getting dark (we were outdoors, on a public park) so he agreed to let me win so that I can still have a chance at playoffs.
Result = x-0-0
Total Score = 14 points!

Me, William, and Rampy all tied to 4th place. Getting so dark now so we decided to gamble on who'll get the spot with a roll of 3 dice.

William went first and got: 1-1-2! Total: 4! haha
Rampy rolled and got: 5-1-1! Total: 7!
I took my chance and got: 5-2-3! Total: WIN!

Haha, looks like my luck is starting to roll! Next is top 4 playoffs with a roster of 2 Lightlord decks and 2 Junk Doppel decks. We decided to split the prize so that everyone from top 4 can have something.

Semis: vs. Karlo (Lightlord)
G1 = Was able to make Tengu+One for One into Lib+Catastor+Tengu to kill his Lumina+Garoth. However, he got Gorz when Lib attacked. His turn he summoned Garoth and his Gorz attacked Lib, Garoth killed Tengu, but he forgot his token cant get over Catastor. My turn I tried to attack Garoth with Catastor but he used Gardna. Looks like he had Celestia so I used Junk to get Ryko to make Decisive Armor with Catastor. Summoned what I could and dumped my hand to use its effect and he had Celestia and 2 JDs. win!
G2 = Forgot how I won... maybe Quasar or advantage through Lib+Formula?
Result: 0-0-

Finals: vs. Alvin (Debris Junk Doppel)
G1 = Made Quasar 1st turn but didnt draw into Avarice so almost all my Synchros are in the GY.  His turn he dump some cards along BF-Zephyros with Trooper. He returned Trooper, summoned Zeph in def and set 3 cards. My turn he used Trap Dustshoot. He used Torrential when I was making Trish and I negated it. Trish removed his other f/d (CotH), and his Tragoedia in his hand. I attacked Zeph with Trish, and attacked directly with Quasar but he had Gorz! Wow, 4000 ATK token in def. I attacked Gorz and ended. Coz of the token the game dragged on. I was seriously blaming myself why I dont have Shooting Star in my extra. He rammed the token into Quasar and I was left with a f/d Ryko. I was hoping for an Avarice so that my synchros are recycled but drew Tengu; attacked with it and destroyed his f/d card with Ryko. His turn he made Lib and ran over Tengu. I summoned another. My turn I tributed Ryko and Tengu to summon Gorz and attacked Lib. His turn he set a card each. My turn drew Veiler and made Scrap Dragon with Gorz. He used MST to my stuck CotH. Got no feed for the dragon so I summoned Quickdraw to destroy his set Veiler and made a direct attack dropping him to 200 LP. His turn he finally drew nothing and I won. Yey. Stressed!
G2 and G3 = It was starting to rain so we agreed to split the prizes of the 1st and 2nd place.

Final Result: 1st-2nd place
Went home with +500% of the entrance fee! It looks not much but it is already large considering the number of players that participated and the split of the cash pool before top 4.

Alvin Lim is really a formidable and a great duelist. Who would have thought someone would survive a 1st-turn-Quasar and almost won? Dueling him twice in one afternoon was so tiring but it was fun.

Here's a decklist of what I used:

Monsters: 26
1 Dark Armed Dragon
1 Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning
1 Gorz
1 Tragoedia
2 Junk Synchron
2 Quickdraw Synchron
2 Doppelwarrior
1 Dandylion
1 Grow-up Bulb
1 Spore
1 Lonefire Blossom
1 Sangan
1 Card Trooper
1 Debris Dragon
2 Ryko, Lightlord Hunter
3 Reborn Tengu
2 Effect Veiler
2 Maxx "C"

Spells: 9
1 Tuning
1 Reinforcement of the Army
1 Reinforcement of the Light
1 Heavy Storm
1 Monster Reborn
1 Dark Hole
1 Foolish Burial
1 One for One
1 Pot of Avarice

Traps: 5
2 Bottomless Trap Hole
1 Torrential Tribute
2 Call of the Haunted

Extra: 15
1 Shooting Quasar Dragon
1 AOJ Decisive Armor
1 Trishula
1 Stardust Dragon
1 Scrap Dragon
1 Black Rose Dragon
1 Brionac
1 TG Hyper Librarian
1 AOJ Catastor
1 Arms Aid
1 Formula Synchron
1 TG Recipro Dragonfly
1 Junk Destroyer
1 Drill Warrior
1 Chimeratech Fortress Dragon

Its Quick Junk Doppel with Reborn Tengu basically. Quickdraw doesn't work well with Tengu here coz I forgot to put in Level Stealer. Maybe I'll just side 1 Maxx C to make space for it. Dont ask about Tour Guides. Even though they're allowed in this tournament, I dont have those.

Im wondering how the TCG will make Quasar since most Tengu Plant decks they have dont use Junk Synchron.
